In this one Hisoka mentions a series called 'Twin Signal'. It's an anime that was only three episodes long. The comic is still running in Japan with 13-15 vol. [1] http://oocities.com/emiko5672000/chibicat.html
Tsuzuki ran in front of me as we found our way up to the second floor. The upper floor of the house was completely dark, it seemed to have no windows. I never did like the dark. With out knowing it I reached out and brushed my hand against Tsuzuki's arm. Pulling back I apologized, I still wasn't used to physical contact… with anybody. A large, warm hand took mine. I looked at Tsuzuki, his eyes almost glowed in the dark. It was a really pretty sight.
"It's okay." He smiled down at me, "Remember I can see in the dark."
"Un…" I slightly mumbled my recognition as I took a step closer to him.
"You feel anything?" he asked lacing his fingers with mine.
"There's… something yet… nothing at the same time, I don't know how else to describe it."
There was a small dark shadow that rushed by, a thousand whispers talked all at once in my head. My grip tightened causing my companion to pull me a little closer. Obviously, by the way he was acting, Tsuzuki had seen it as well. The shadow darted past again this time we could clearly hear the soft pitter-patter of small feet. I reached up and gripped a handful of the older shinigami's shirt with my free hand. I'll admit it, but not out loud, I was really creeped out.
"Hisoka, hold onto this," Tsuzuki pulled me away from him.
A piece of paper was shoved into my hands and Tsuzuki dashed off. "Tsuzuki?" I stood there clutching the paper. Speaking over a whisper was beyond me at the moment. Hn, it was kind of frightening to see a shadow dashing around with Tatsumi-san around… Not to mention all the bad vibes that I got from outside. Things were ramming against my love's barrier outside. I could here their hellish squeals that echoed even in the day. Swallowing down the hard lump in my throat I just kept my concentration on Tsuzuki and the silent sounds of his feet soothed me. That was until something grabbed my pant leg. I gasped feeling little hands clutching at me. Then I felt it, the thing was just as scared as me. Maybe our feelings of dread cancelled each other out but suddenly I wasn't all that scared.
"Hisoka, hold up the fuda!" Tsuzuki commanded.
I did as told and the thing lit the entire room. A little yip came from what ever was clutching my leg and it tried to make a run for it. So I did the most logical thing in the situation, I lifted up my foot and stepped on it.
"You got it!" Tsuzuki came running up to me.
"Letmegoletmeoletmego!!" A cute, small voice floated up to us.
"It talks," Tsuzuki knelt down. "AH!"
He then pulled the thing out from under my feet causing me to fall onto my back. The fuda continued to glow but the shadows in the room danced to a different melody.
"You okay?" My partner sounded overly fatherly.
"Yes… I'm fine," the voice sniffled.
"Tsuzuki!!" I was loosing my temper.
"So let me get this strait," I growled at Tsuzuki and the little… thing in front of me.
The little guy that was sitting on the table and eating a bar of chocolate claimed that his name was Cid. He had bright golden hair that was longer than his body… Body, I wonder if you could even call it that. The monstrosity looked like some UFO character doll. Maybe even that Mini [1] guy off of that anime 'Twin Signal'. I couldn't get over how his calico eyes were large and shimmered with delight as he ate and how his hair was longer than his body by a good five inches.
"Okay, Cid… You're an elf from Ireland…"
"Yep! I've beeeen liven' here for many human generations," he chimed.
"But how did you get here?" I was ignored when Tsuzuki began to wipe the little cridder's mouth clean. "Hurry up and answer me!!"
Tsuzuki and Cid both blinked at me. The little elf lifted up a small hand and pointed at me.
"Is your boyfriend always like this?" he asked facing Tsuzuki.
I couldn't believe he asked that. I turned so red especially after Tsuzuki had said, "Not always. Hisoka's really a sweet person."
I tired to keep my cool and continued to ask, "Why are you here?"
"Because," Cid looked at me with those big eyes. "I can't leave."
Tsuzuki folded his arms as if thinking when I asked, "Why?"
"Because…" He fidgeted and blushed. The little guy was embraced, "I lost my needle."
"Needle?"
My partner spoke up, "You lost your magic needle in this house…"
"Right!"
I looked at my partner. How did he do that? Hide all traces of his intelligence, I mean.
"Huh?" I was confused now.
"Well," Tsuzuki maneuvered over to my side. "In Irish folklore elves are tailors and have a needle that holds their magic power."
"Right!"
"Shut up Cid."
Cid sniffled after I had snapped at him. I still wasn't feeling too good, sure I was feeling better, but that didn't make me in perfect health. I was glowering down at the little man in front of me, his mostly golden eyes wobbled with tears as his tiny hands covered his mouth. God that was annoying. I heaved a sigh then apologized, which cheered up the little elf right away. Something twisted in my stomach, I placed a hand to my forehead and said, "Continue."
"Well… From what I've heard the magic in their needle is what keeps them alive."
"Right!" Cid piped up again, "I lost it in this house a long time ago when it was being moved over here."
"If you lost it during the move then how do you know that it's still here?"
"Because I would be dead if it wasn't here. I have to be in at least a mile radius of it or sssciik," he dew his small hand over his neck.
"Nnn…" I closed my eyes, I was so tired. Maybe I had over exerted myself for the day.
"Hisoka, let's get you to bed."
He got up and bodily lifted me into his arms. I blushed when I saw Cid smiling happily at us, but I wasn't about to protest. I was too tired to not to mention I kind of wanted him to do that. As Tsuzuki took me back to the room were I had first rested in Cid jumped off of the table. He followed with his blond hair dragging on the floor with his green jacket. His blue pants and shirt commented his features I had to admit. The guy was a snappy dresser. I fell asleep before we even reached the room.
Tsuzuki tucked Hisoka in the bed as the elf came up next to him. He pushed a few stray strands of wheat colored bangs out of his young love's face.
Cid noticed something and gasped in utter horror.
"What? What is it?" Tsuzuki protectively leaned over Hisoka.
"This is terrible!!" Cid ran up to Hisoka's jacket. It had a small hole in the breast pocket, "It's so abused!!"
The shinigami chuckled, figures that the mystical creature would throw a fit over something like that. He was a natural tailor after all. Tsuzuki had first wondered why everything was clean and well kept, but now it wasn't a mystery at all. Amethyst eyes watched the small chibi pull out a needle and thread from his little jacket and begin sowing.
"Why do you stay in that form?" Tsuzuki asked the humming little person.
The humming stopped, "You're smatter than you look, shinigami."
"I also don't understand why you do not frown down upon our love… I thought that your culture and many others, including my own, didn't approve of this kind of love."
Cid shook his head. "You don't understand much about the Irish culture do you?"
Tsuzuki looked to the side, that was answer enough for the elf.
"Very well…" his voice deepened. "I'll show you my true form."
The little chibi like man began growing. His hair lengthened, small arms grew sender yet strong, legs pushed out and stretched beautiful and well developed. Cid opened his closed eyes and gazed down at the shinigami that looked at him in awe. His golden hair hung to his feet and waved almost like Watari's. His green jacket was now large and hung in the back with two wings (think tux). Blue pants and silken shirt neatly tucked and straitened with black leather shoes. Cid, the 'little guy' stood at over six feet tall and was a nicely developed young man. His fare skin looked soft like cherry blossom petals while his eyes glinted with every color of the spectrum.
"You look surprised," his voice was now deep and smooth like soft summer breezes.
"Do you blame me? I mean… wow… look at you."
Cid smiled and sat back down. He began sowing again, "Before you ask, I'll tell you. I stay in my smaller form most of the time because it's easier to hide. You see demons crawl all over this hill side, I don't know why… but they come by and harass me a lot. With out my needle I can't defend myself to well so I hide."
"So you don't fight back?"
"I try to but I don't know much about fighting with out magic. I'm a tailor not a fighter."
"And my second question?" Tsuzuki inquired.
Cid snipped the thread with his teeth and looked at the perfect patch that he had made on Hisoka's jacket. Then turned to Tsuzuki with a smile, "We Irish be leave in love, no matter what form it takes."
"But I've heard…"
Cid folded his arms with his sowing implements in-between his fingers, "Pppffft! It's because of those dumb religions that make people think that certain things are bad. Damn I hate that. Just know this." The elf put his hands over his heart after putting his needle and thread away, "A true Irishman is romantic to the heart. Nothing else should matter besides love and your magic needle."
Tsuzuki began laughing, Cid was being mellow dramatic and knew it. But he wasn't lying about Irishman being romantic.
"So why are Irishman so romantic?" Tsuzuki asked looking down at Hisoka.
He didn't see his new friend's expression but felt the pain in his voice, "Because… An Irish story is always sad… No matter how much we love… We can never keep it."
Amethyst eyes turned and gazed into calico. "Why?" he asked innocently.
The elf's smile turned very sad, "It's been so long that no one knows why anymore, but we still continue to love." Cid reached out a hand at touched Tsuzuki's cheek. He pulled himself closer to the shinigami and rested his forehead against his friend's.
"Promise me Tsuzuki Asato… Promise me… That you'll never let go of your love, not for anything. Not even to stop the end of the world."
Tsuzuki closed his eyes as one of his hands clenched Hisoka's, "I promise."
"Good, not enough of this serious stuff, give me your jacket!"
"Why?" Tsuzuki whined.
Cid was taken aback, "Why? Why? You're jacket has small holes, tares, and threads poking out everywhere that's why! Give it to me!"
The elf jumped Tsuzuki and pulled off the jacket as Tsuzuki protested the whole way. Soon as he got his precious cloth, Cid began sowing again all the while humming to himself. Tsuzuki only sat there glowering, he didn't like it how he got his jacket stolen strait off his back. Even if he was going to get it right back.
To be continued….
