Tsuzuki lifted up his hand at his desk as he leaned on the other one to support his head. He was board as hell, didn't care about much at the moment, and just wanted a break. Tatsumi had been working them like horses for the past year and he has had about enough. He didn't even get one sick day off when he got the flue.
Tatsumi looked over to see his favorite amethyst eyed shinigami raising his hand. He smiled slightly after returning back to his paper work. It was just him, Terazuma, and Tsuzuki there because all the others were able to leave earlier. After Terazuma and Tsuzuki had their little fight and destroyed the new library they had to stay behind for extra hours. The secretary found it a fitting punishment for the two idiots of the department.
"No you may not leave Tsuzuki-san," Tatsumi merely stated as if he had said that a million times before.
"I'm not trying to get your attention for that," Tsuzuki's voice was rather cold.
A chill ran down the man's spin. He had never heard his fellow shinigami's voice so cold before. The secretary slowly turned his attention to a rather angry Tsuzuki who looked like a vexed child. "Tsuzuki-san? What's wrong?" he asked setting his papers down on the copier that he was standing in front of.
Tsuzuki took a deep breath as he stood.
"I'm sure even Terazuma can agree with me on this one," he started off.
Terazuma looked up from his paper work and snorted, "What makes you think that you know so much you idiot?"
Tsuzuki glared at his fellow shinigami before continuing, "We here at the Enma-chou department have been working harder than usual in order to get things back together after… our misconduct. So far as I count it the payment for the library has been more than paid off from all the hours that we have been working."
Tatsumi fell silent as the cigarette fell out of Terazuma's mouth. They both didn't think that the shinigami known as Tsuzuki Asato was that smart. The cigarette started to burn a hole in the crouch of the jeans that Terazuma wore. He jumped up brushing the burning stick of cancerous death away as he hissed. Tatsumi shook his head, he was caught, he was actually trying to work them both in order to pay off Tsuzuki's debts but not even a fourth was paid. He was just glad that he was able to pay off enough to the Earl that the invisible man wasn't demanding for Tsuzuki's body anymore.
The amethyst eyed shinigami continued as he slammed down his hand onto his desk and pointed to Tatsumi, "So as payment for our services I say that we deserve an all expenses paid vacation!"
Tatsumi's brain froze as Terazuma stood as well.
"For once I agree with this slacker," the pointy-eared shinigami clenched his fist. "It's time for those who worked really hard to relax a bit."
Tatsumi looked at the two shinigami that both folded their arms at the same time. He was out numbered and they were right. Everyone did deserve some time off. Taking off his glasses he finally spoke up, "Very well, I'll see what I can do."
Tsuzuki was quick to bound over and grab onto the secretary's arm while singing, "Tatsumi's the best~!"
…. Three weeks later….
Watari placed his travel bags down as Hisoka's hand tightened around the strap of his backpack. Tsuzuki and Terazuma ignored each other as Wakaba smiled contently at the hotel. It was a rather large place that looked slightly worn down. The trees were well tended to and so were the gardens but some of the windows looked like they had seen better days. The white building had some boards that were covering what may have been holes and were painted the same color as the structure.
"Interesting," Hisoka mumbled with Watari as a shingle fell from the tiled roof.
"Damn it! I knew he would do something like this if Konoe didn't insist on something nice. Damn it why couldn't you get the old man in on this too, Terazuma!!" Tsuzuki turned to who he believed was at fault.
"Hey! He had to leave for a business trip. So stop pointing at me when YOU miscalculate things you moron!" Terazuma snapped back.
Wakaba stepped in between the two before they could fight, "Remember, you two promised everyone that you wouldn't fight on this trip."
"Kanuki, shut up," her partner hissed.
"Sorry," Tsuzuki patted the girl's head. "Terazuma, remember that you said that you would show her some respect, you brat!"
Hajime snorted as he flung his nose into the air, "Fine, I'm sorry!"
"No you're not you-!" The senior shinigami shouted when someone interrupted him.
"My what lively guest we have today."
The Enma-chou group looked over to see a little old woman dressed in a full body apron with sleeves and a cloth that covered her hair. The group of shinigami looked at the woman as if she was a ghost that had just appeared out of no where.
"You must be the Tatsumi party. Please come in, we have karaoke, ping pong, racket ball, and a recreation room as well. Please do enjoy the springs but… do not go into the ones that are fenced off," the old woman warned.
"Sounds fine to me," Watari grabbed his bags and Tsuzuki's arm at the same time.
"Come on Hajime-chan, Kurosaki-kun this is what we have been waiting for," Wakaba nudged them carefully not to make full contact.
Terazuma was quick to pick up his luggage and follow the group as Hisoka lingered behind. He was pretty sure he was going to regret this trip, but how badly was yet to be determined. Pulling his bag strap tighter he picked up his feet and began his journey to the house of horrors. Of course it looked very nice inside but one wouldn't want to spend a night where Terazuma Hajime and Tsuzuki Asato were under the same roof.
Soon as Tsuzuki had settled his things down he was quick to pull out all of his bathing things and pile them into a bath pail. He smiled over to Wakaba, whom he shared a room with.
"Wakaba-chan, you sure you don't want to share a room with Terazuma or anyone else?" he asked as she hung up a blue yukata so that it could air out.
The young shinigami only smiled as she held her hands behind her back after hanging up her clothing. She turned and giggled at the amethyst eyed man, "You're so silly."
Tsuzuki looked confused, "I am?"
"I can't bunk with Hajime-chan because of… you know his girl trouble. Kurosaki-kun would be best to keep him from throwing his temper tantrums while we are on vacation and Watari-san said that he would be fine by himself." She went back to her bag and started to dig out some bathing things, "Plus I don't get to see you any more. So I view this as a good chance for us to spend some time with each other."
The shinigami beamed at the girl, "Oh okay. I just didn't want you to feel uncomfortable that's all."
Wakaba stood with her bath pail and towel ready, "You're so sweet. Now then, how about you being a gentleman and walking me to the baths?"
Tsuzuki smiled as he got up and held out his arm for her to take with a slight bow.
"It would be my pleasure my lady," he jested causing the young woman to giggle as she took his arm.
~~~~~~~~~
Terazuma growled as he watched Tsuzuki and Wakaba walking down the hall arm in arm. He wanted to just jump at that moron of a superior and beat him so badly that he would have wished that he had never died. But then he had three factors against him, one was Wakaba. If he got Kanuki-kun angry at him then she would touch him. That would cause him to transform into that black lion and destroy everything around, then he would get further into debt. Then there was the other factor… Yes you guessed it, Kurosaki Hisoka. The boy was scary, he would do some really bad things to him if he touched his partner like that. Some times Terazuma wondered if Hisoka loved his partner, like sibling love where no one else but you can pull your sister's braid. That made a lot of sense to him but the boy was just too confusing to figure out, even for an ex-detective like himself. The last factor was the child harness that Watari forced him into so that Hisoka could keep an eye on him. Why was he being treated like that?! It's Tsuzuki that was the delinquent not him!!
There was a hard yank on the harness's leash. The older man was riled back like some kind of fish to where Hisoka read a book. The youth quietly flipped a page and continued reading as Terazuma thrashed on the ground trying to get the child proof harness off. He first mumbled then started to shout out profanities that would peel the paint off the walls as he got his foot stuck behind his back with one of his wrists pinned in front of him as the other was snuggly trapped under his foot. He started yelling like some wild animal as he rolled around trying to free himself from his bounds.
"Shut up!!" Hisoka roared placing his book down.
"Let me out of this!! You have no right to do this to me!" the older shinigami bounced as he shouted. "What did I do to you?!"
Hisoka shouted so loudly that Terazuma tumbled into the nearby closet, "DON'T TALK BACK TO ME!!!"
The man's eyes were wide as he watched the youth from his now upside down position.
"You want a reason why it's you in that?" Hisoka folded his arms as he glared at the man.
A slow nod.
"Well, it's simple really. That harness was originally designed for Tsuzuki, but so far you have been the immature one. You also have the worst temper and while Tsuzuki is actually trying to get along and relax you remain up tight. So soon as you calm down, you can get out of that."
"Promise?" Terazuma cursed himself for sounding like his inner child.
Hisoka picked up his book again as he replied, "Yes."
