The place was full of noise, hard techno music pulsed out of the towering speakers that were well placed through out the dance club. Dark red, blue, and purple lights flashed and seemed to dance along with the large mass of people. The tiles of the dance floor were clear and had different kinds of neon lights beneath to give it a luminasant look in the dark club. Small tables that barely seated two lined the area next to the bar where skimpy dressed waitresses would get the alcoholic beverages to take to different tables. Larger tables with soft leather and velvet sofa like seats lined the walls around the dance floor.
He crossed his black clad legs. One hand held a Bloody Mary while the other rested in his dark hair. He was rather thankful that he had worn his skintight sleeveless, wide necked shirt with the transparent, button up, tee shirt. It got rather fast in there with all the dancers, not to mention how much dancing he had done in the past three hours. Now that it was time for him to sit and rest he scanned the room for what he was looking for.
"Hey handsome, what's so interesting over there?" a female voice spoke to him over the blaring music.
Tsuzuki looked up to see a girl that looked like she was in her late teens. She was clad in black in clothing just like his. Her hair was a strange blonde, bleached with colored blue and red bangs. Not caring if she was invited to sit or not, she flopped down next to him and put her feet up on the table and crossed them at the ankle.
"Nice fashion sense, I like it." She winked.
"Same to you," he smiled. Even though he had never seen her before he could feel a pleasant aura about her that was inviting.
"You interested in someone over there?" She asked trying to see if she could spot what he was looking at earlier.
Taking a brief drink of his beverage he thought on a way to approach this. He had to be delicate with a situation like this. "Are you familiar with people around here?" He asked turning his gaze to her.
"Some, if I don't know then we can always find out."
He nodded, just what he wanted to hear. "Tell me, do you know the man over there with the spiked hair with the one side shaved off?"
Pointing to show her who he meant, he leaned back to giver her room to look. She dug something out of her pocket and put them on.
She looked at the punk that had about ten girls drooling over him as they touched about every part of his anatomy. "Ah, Spike Mars. Sure everyone knows about him. A murdering, raping bastard that is recommended to keep away from," She sighed. "But as you can see a lot of girls are attracted to danger."
"You sound as if you are disgusted by them." He turned to her.
"I am. They know that they are going to die if they stay with him for over ten days, even though he says he's dead."
"Dead? Really?"
Tsuzuki was striking it rich that night. He was rather worried because Hisoka was home sick with a bag case of the flue. Watari couldn't accompany him because the blond was taking care of Hisoka and had other things to do at the same time. Tatsumi was too busy to do much of anything besides sleep and do paper work. So when the unsuspected case showed up he was sent to go on his own with Gushoshin ani to accompany him. But the little shikigami librarian wasn't able to get into the club.
The girl took her feet off of the table and sat like a guy with her legs spread out and arms propped up. She caught the look in Tsuzuki's eyes and grinned as she closed her legs. "Sorry bad habit of mine," she said sheepishly. Regaining her confidence from before she pointed a finger in his face, "Now don't go and think that I'm some kind of slut. I have a good reason why I sit like that."
"Oh?" Tsuzuki's eyes were narrow in curiosity.
"I grew up around boys. So I picked up a few habits."
His smile grew a little, "Queen of tomboys huh?"
"I wouldn't go that far, more like the knight of tomboys."
The two laughed. She really was a tomboy and no kind of hussy, Tsuzuki could feel that from her kind personality. A rather drunk girl came up to the two and flopped herself over the girl's lap and tried to kiss her. The girl dumped the drunk on the floor and stepped on her head.
"JACKIE! How many times do I have to tell you I'm not a lesbian! I'm strait you frickin' drunk!" The girl growled.
The drunk named Jackie lifted up her head, "Come on, just one night."
"Why don't you go screw Mars? You'll get off'ed and you would have a sex life, then both of us would be happy."
"Omi-chan that's not nice to say. Besides, it's not like you've got a boyfriend."
"Don't be too sure." Tsuzuki spoke up getting the two's attention, "Omi-chan's my girl."
"Oh?" Jackie looked spectacle. "It looked like you just met to me. I bet she doesn't even know your name."
Omi-chan looked calmly over at Tsuzuki who was holding something in his hand. A small piece of paper, that had the name 'Asato' written on it, was nestled in his hand. Omi-chan smiled and winked at him, "You shouldn't be so lustful Jackie or jumping to conclusions. Asato and I have been together for a bit now."
Jackie got up to her feet and glared down at Tsuzuki. He could tell that she wasn't buying it, but he didn't loose his cool. Leaning over to Omi-chan he whispered into her ear, "It seems that you need my help, more than I thought."
"Ne Omittichi, coming over tonight?" he asked so Jackie could hear.
Jackie gasped, and ran off in tears when Tsuzuki kissed Omi-chan's cheek. Soon as the wailing freak was out of site Tsuzuki sat back as Omi-chan looked at him. He raised his eyebrows at her quizzical look.
"How did you know that nickname? Only really close people to me call me that."
"I just thought it was a cute nickname for Omi."
She smirked and laughed a bit, "Information for a kiss on the cheek. What a smooth guy you are."
He blinked. She thought that he helped her out because he wanted information. True he did, but he felt like he should have help her since she's a nice person. Having a sexually harassing stocker wasn't fun, he knew from experience. She got up to her feet and with her smirk still gracing her face. "Come on Asato. Let's get going," she jerked a thumb towards the exit.
"But…"
She didn't let him finish. Taking him by the arm she jerked him to his feet and led him thought the crowed of people to the exit. Once out, started to walk down an alley way with a beckoning wave.
"Where are we going?" He asked trying to clear his suddenly plugged ears.
"Spike Mars place. You wanted information on him, you're getting it."
"But… Ah, Look Omi-chan."
"Omittichi's fine."
"Omittichi, well the thing is I didn't help you back there because I wanted just information."
"Really? Well then, thanks for the help. Now come on, we've only got an hour in before he leaves."
He shrugged and followed her that girl really was something different. Not once did she act like he was implying something naughty. He usually got that if he even winked at a girl of a pretty boy for that matter of fact.
Threw dingy alleys he raced after her, she was fast on her feet and she had an air about her that she wanted to get this over with. He ran up beside her, "What's the hurry? We've got an hour right?"
"You'll see… When we get there."
Turning a sharp corner they almost slammed into each other. Tsuzuki stopped, it was the creepiest, most run down building he had ever seen. Windows were boarded up or had sloppy patchwork down with duct tape, torn drapes lined the dusty windows as old rusty nails stuck out of the walls giving the dirty gray building a bloodied voodoo look.
"Hey!" Omittichi's whisper came roughly to his ears. "You coming or not? I would like to get this over with."
She had already lifted up one of the boarded windows and was in the windowsill calling out for him. He hurried over, he was about the heft himself in when the sound of thunder shook the sky. Omittichi grabbed his wrist and got his attention. He looked into her hazel eyes to see that she really didn't like being there. "Bad omen, hurry up so we can get this over with," she whispered ignoring everything around her.
"Right," he pulled himself through the window.
"Quickly now," she darted past bean bag chairs that had knives and pins sticking out of them.
When Tsuzuki followed her he couldn't stop looking around. Green fish tanks that had fish that nibbled on other dead fish and what looked like fingers. Shrunken head with sown lips hung from the ceiling.
