The Great Mail Race

In January of 2000, our class began an activity called the Great Mail Race.
Each student was given an address of a school located in another state. The selected schools included Alaska and Hawaii, and other states throughout the contiguous United States.

Each student wrote a short letter of introduction describing Orchard School of Science and the area of Cleveland, Ohio.
We then mailed and waited for the schools to respond. We waited. . . . . . and waited . . . . . . .and waited . . . . . .and waited.
Unfortunately, only 6 schools responded to our letters. Most of the students were very disappointed.

However, we did have five schools who responded.
Those schools were:

Bowler School of Bowler, Wisconsin

Chisholm Elementary School of Edmond, Oklahoma

Orangethorpe School of Fullerton, California

Okapilco School of Moultrie, Georgia

Candy Lane School of Milwaukie, Oregon

Hoover Elementary School of North Mankato, Minnesota
Check out their own websites.
