1.a. On July 16, 2001, a document entitled "JURY SUMMONS" (original marked, attached, and incorporated herein as EXHIBIT 0 (zero)) bearing the return address as shown above and showing on its face that it had been mailed from "ZIP CODE 85026" was placed in the mailbox I rent at THE UNITED STATES POSTAL SERVICE facility at Nevada City, California.

1.b. My search in the most recent available edition in the MADELYN HELLING COUNTY LIBRARY at Nevada City of THE U.S. POSTAL SERVICE ZIP Code books (1999 National Five-Digit ZIP Code and Post Office Directory) indicates that "ZIP CODE 85026" is listed as "PHOENIX AZ ... Postmaster, 4949 E Van Buren St" as shown on the document marked, attached, and incorporated herein as EXHIBIT 1. (one photocopy of page 3-104, (1999 National Five-Digit ZIP Code and Post Office Directory, Vol 1. ).

1.c. I know of no valid reason how valid service of process of a purported California SUMMONS could be made from Phoenix, Arizona.

1.d. I know of no valid reason why such service of process of a purported California SUMMONS should, or would, be attempted.

2. On the reverse of this "JURY SUMMONS," under the heading "AFFIDAVIT OF PROSPECTIVE JUROR," is the statement that, "Response may be made by any person having knowledge that the prospective juror is unable to respond to summons."
I do not understand how such a condition could be possible, so I am submitting an Affidavit in lieu of the prepared "AFFIDAVIT OF PROSPECTIVE JUROR".
I believe that I am unable to sign said form without unwittingly committing perjury.

3.a. I believe the addressee, "THORNHILL III, THOMAS MURRELL" to be an fictitious entity.

3.b. I have been unable to determine the nature or character of said fictitious entity.

3.c. I have no known valid fiduciary relationship with, or to, said fictitious entity.

4. I have determined that I am not qualified for jury duty as follows:

a. "I am not a citizen of the United States."

1. In reasonable reliance upon this decision of a California appellate court and the imbedded citations, I do not understand how I could, or should, claim to be a citizen of such a corporation:

We entertain no doubt that the United States Government is a corporation within the meaning of section 27 of the Probate Code. Corporations are either public or private; each constitutes a class as distinct as the other. ... The United States Government is a corporation. (Van Brocklin v. State of Tennessee, 117 U.S. 151,154 [6 S.Ct. 670, 29 L.Ed.845]; Respublica v. Sweers, 1 Dall. 41,44 [1 L.Ed. 29]; Ohio v. Helvering, 292 U.S. 360, 370 [54 S.Ct. 725, 78 L.Ed. 1307]; Georgia v. Evans, 316 U.S. 159, 161 [62 S.Ct. 972, 86 L.Ed. 1346].) Estate of Hendrix (1947), 77 Cal.App.2d 647, 651-652, 176 P.2d 398.

3. To the best of my knowledge and understanding, I am a private party and I live on the land within the physical boundaries of Nevada County within the physical boundaries of the State of California, within the physical boundaries of the contiguous united States of America.

b. "I am not a resident of Nevada County." [which should read: "I am not a resident of the County of Nevada." for some consistency with the return address on the SUMMONS: OFFICE OF THE JURY COMMISSIONER COUNTY OF NEVADA ...].

1. In reasonable reliance upon the statement made by Chris Dabis in a document entitled "INFORMATION ABOUT TREASURER'S MONTHLY BALANCE REPORT", marked, attached, and incorporated herein as EXHIBIT 3 (one photocopy of a document I found on July 19, 2001, on the "OFFICAL NOTICES ONLY" bulletin board in the lobby of the ERIC ROOD ADMINISTRATIVE CENTER at Nevada City, California), I reasonably infer that Nevada County and the County of Nevada are two seperate and different entities. I do not know the nature of the relationship between the County of Nevada and COUNTY OF NEVADA.

The total amount shown on the monthly report is all money for every district, agency, office and department within the geographical boundary known as Nevada County. One of those entities happens to be the County of Nevada. (emphasis as in original).

6. I have no known valid contractural or quasi-contractural relationship with, nor obligation to, the COUNTY OF NEVADA.
7. I am not knowingly an officer or employee of the State of California, its agents, or instrumentalities.
8. I am not knowingly an officer or employee of any other State, its agents, or instrumentalities within the united States of America.
9. I am not knowingly an officer or employee of the United States, its agents, or instrumentalities.

5. In response to the "NECESSARY INFORMATION" request:

6. Since I am not am employee of the State of California, I cannot sign a jurat under the penalty of perjury.
