Dr. Philip M. Smith is the only veterinarian in the west Alabama area specializing in avian care. From trimming wing feathers to shaving overgrown beaks to flushing sinus cavities and minor surgery, Indian Hills is eqipped and ready to help you care for your feathered friend! We have experience with macaws, African grays, cockatoos, cockatiels, lovebirds and even pet ducks.

A separate boarding area exists for birds at the clinic. So, if you have to leave town and don't trust your neighbor's kids to feed and water your pets, bring them to Indian Hills.

Not sure the sex of your bird? We offer accurate testing to determine the gender. Call or drop by to find out more. We can also test breeding stock or traveling birds for Newcastle Disease and other potentially contagious threats.

IHAC is located just off McFarland Boulevard, near the Radiology Clinic and Ruby Tuesdays. See our ad in the Yellow Pages or call 345-1231 for directions.

Our hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Saturday 7 to 12 noon, and Sunday we are open one hour for pick-ups and drop-offs only from 9 until 10 in the morning. Clients of Indian Hills can also rely on our
24-hour on-call emergency staff.
