The Bargain

the dream which shapes and erodes the light
comes into my conscience; a burrowing blight
this dream of fear and ages past
releases my inner rage; it will not last
like a stage production gone askew
the horrid dream unfolds; all lines on que
it frightens and pleasures and frightens again
like an Alfred Hitchcock ove; your screams seal the bargain
this bargain has ties that legally bind
an agreement with Satan; well isn't that sublime?
the dream, however, does come to an end
when the pact is done; you have time to mend
in the lingering night as black as coal
a wail of thunder across my soul
