Rainy Day Drabble

He leaned back and listened to the sound of the raindrops as they pattered on the roof. Closing his eyes, he tuned out the world around him, focusing only on Nature’s display. It had been hot, too hot and too dry for too long.

As he listened, he could almost feel the cooling drops against his skin, feel the slick, cool trails as the globules glided across his heat-saturated body. He could feel the cool breath of comfort as the water evaporated leaving behind only a memory of relief.

A contented sigh escaped as he opened his eyes and waited.
