Dr. Amit Goswami:
I had the priveledge of taking Dr. Goswami's yearlong course, "The Physicist's View of Nature" while attending the University of Oregon** in the mid-nineties, where he was (and still is, I think) teaching in the chair of Professor Emeritus in the department of theoretical physics. He was a very nice person and kind enough to grant me a private audience in his office one sunny afternoon. It was an enlightening experience, but probably not in the way you might think, (it had to realness when expressing real things), but he found my questions quite relevant and he answered of all that I inquired.I suppose you may consider me not unintelligent as he was amused and entertained enough to invite me to visit again any time and in a warm and not insincere tone. (Though, alas, that represented a completion of that particular quest, and ...). It was a great class, accessible to those of non-science background, and now the general teachings are available in
a set of two volumes.

is well positioned for discussing the implications of the Human Genome Project (HGP) for evolution, because he was the director of the HGP project. The HGP was the ambitious international scientific effort that started in 1998 and completed the first draft of the human genome in June 26, 2000. The achievement is described as "a pinnacle of human self-knowledge". "We have caught the first glimpses of our instruction book, previously known only to God". Before he was the HGP director, Collins won fame in the scientific community in 1989 when he discovered the mutation that causes the genetic disorder Cystic Fibrosis (CF), which opened the way to a cure for that potentially fatal disorder. Francis Collins is now the director of the US National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI).
