| Free women may carry daggers or poisoned needles to protect themselves. But, a woman must rely on surprise to have a chance against a man. Most men could easily disarm a woman with a dagger. Whereas a free man sits, free women kneel. They kneel in a tower slave position, but their hands lie on their thighs, palms down. Free women do not sit cross-legged. That is only for free men. Free women maintain good posture while kneeling. Many Gorean men believe that all women are natural slaves. There are many such sayings that refer to this belief. "Free women are slaves who have not yet been collared." "The free woman is a riddle, the answer to which is the collar." "There are only two kinds of women, slaves and slaves." "The garments of a free woman are designed to conceal a woman's slavery." Many Gorean men also believe that true love can only exist between a man and a kajira, not a free woman. "A woman must choose between freedom and love." "The love of a slave girl is the deepest and most profound love that any woman can give to a man." "A man can truly love only that woman who is truly his, who belongs to him. Otherwise he is only a party to a contract." "Bondage is a soil in which it is natural for love to blossom." Yet, despite all these beliefs, free women remain in the overwhelming majority on Gor. Free men do not have children with slaves. Free women are the ones who raise the children during their formative years. Some men may even free their slaves so that they can make them their Free Companion. As anywhere, opinions vary widely as to views on free women, slavery and love. Though some generalizations can be made, there are always exceptions. Some free women are capable of intense passion while there are some kajirae who are frigid. Though such a slave will not live long unless she changes. From the Camp Rules 8. Free women that do not behave properly will be kolared. This means that Free woman may not get disrespectful or "mouthy". 23. The Free Women of Tuchuk Wagon Camp will wear the nose ring of the wagon peoples in place of a veil. This is to be done by adding a gold O to your tags. Proper avitars must be worn. If you are not sure, contact the Ubar, Ubara or the Camp Second for approval. 24. No Free Woman may fur unless They are FC'ed. Free Women must always show respect. If you do not, then suffer the consequence of wearing a kolar 25. The Free Women of camp will also help with the upkeep of the camp in general (cooking, cleaning, etc.). If no kajiras are present or are all busy serving, the Free Women will serve guests or members of camp. 26. The Free Women of camp will also learn some basic defense, as they may be called upon for defense of camp during raids. As well as learning basic healing skills, enough to stitch wounds and clean cuts, etc, field dressings in other words 28. Before privately speaking to anyone in camp, first ask permission. Free Woman that are FC'ed must have their Free Companion's permission to speak privately to any Free Male, member or not. The Ubar Luther Education Scrolls on Free Women state: Free women are commonly treated with respect, courtesy and honor, especially free women of high station or Caste. Free women on Gor would be considered to possess a greater status than a typical Earth women............ Free women may often say what they wish, without anyone's permission, and many men will listen to what they have to say. Part of the key is that those free men and women who share a Home Stone have much in common. Thus, they are more apt to listen to the thoughts and feelings of one another. Free women may often be bold, within certain limits. "A free woman is inordinately precious. She is a thousand times, and more, above a mere slave." (Players of Gor, p.92) "For example, there is no higher person, nor one more respected, than the Gorean free woman." (Hunters of Gor, p.311) |
