of the Golden Retriever breed has been sold to the person(s) listed above as
the
Purchaser and Shelly Blom
(Sterre Reg’d) as the breeder.

Your puppy is sold to you as a
healthy, happy puppy of sound temperament. He/she is the result of selective
mating of quality parents with
certified clearances. He/she is an excellent representative of the breed. The
buyer agrees to take good and
responsible care of the dog, providing adequate nutrition, shelter and medical
care including annual
examinations so as to ensure the physical and emotional well-being of the
dog.
These conditions shall include
the following:
All Sterre puppies are sold
with a health guarantee. Your puppy has had a complete and thorough
examination by my veterinarian
at the age of six weeks and is guaranteed to be in a good, clean state of
health
on departure from my home. You
are advised to have your own veterinarian examine your new puppy within 72
hours of departure from our
home.
If for any reason, the buyer
is not satisfied with the puppy within this three day period you may return it
to me (at the purchaser’s expense), provided the puppy is in the same condition
as when sold. The buyer will receive a replacement puppy from the next litter
whelped at our home, to be decided upon by the breeder, or a
full refund. All veterinary
bills after departure from Sterre, no matter what the reason, including the
three day period are the responsibility of the purchaser.
STERRE GOLDEN RETRIEVERS
WILL PROVIDE THE FOLLOWING TWO YEAR INCLUSIVE
GUARANTEE ON THE
PUPPY :
1) Free of hereditary eye
cataracts as determined by an AVCO specialist.
2) Free of congenital heart
disease (SAS), as determined by an ultrasound performed by a veterinary
cardiologist.
3) Free of hip dysplasia as
assessed by OFA or OVC, as per the following terms:
A)
the dog must not be more than 10 pounds overweight as determined by a
veterinarian.
B)
there will be no cash refund unless surgery is required and completed.
Suitable evidence of said
defects shall be the official report of a veterinarian, subject to confirmation
by my veterinarian or a specialist of my choice.
If your dog is diagnosed with
any of these defects in this 2 year period, and suitable evidence has been
produced, the following terms are available.

In this situation, the purchaser shall keep their original puppy and all vet
bills pertaining to the ailment are
the
responsibility of the purchaser.
If for any reason, the buyer
can no longer keep the dog at any time, they agree to notify the breeder and
return the dog to the breeder for rehoming.
Under no circumstances shall the purchaser sell, give away, trade, or
otherwise part with the dog without the breeder’s informed consent.
All companion puppies leaving
our home do so on a standard Canadian Kennel Club Non-Breeding Contract.
Failure to abide by the non-breeding contract shall result in punitive damages
of $5000 due to the breeder for each and every time the dog is bred. Purchasers wishing for a
performance/show/breeding prospect must sign a separate agreement that shall
govern the terms by which the non-breeding contract will be lifted.
It should be noted that all
the above guarantees, clauses and conditions are a binding agreement between
the
breeder and the purchaser. Any
forfeiture, neglect or failure to comply with these terms may result in
legal action being taken. In
the case of the purchaser failing to adequately provide for the dog in any way
as stated
herein, or if the breeder
discovers abuse in any form, the breeder retains the right to reclaim and
repossess the dog
with no financial attachment.
