The Craig Stare

The Craig stare originated as a way for Craig, who is the quietest of the four of us, to express how he feels without talking. It all started one night during the summer. Craig, Nick, and I went miniature golfing at Safari Golf. I remember golfing behind a group of two young boys or something and golfing in front of a family with small children. The night before we had been introduced to the get out of here by Fred. So, we were loud and annoying all night, saying get out of here to everything that we saw and everything that happened. I remember humping one of the lions and making a point of hitting every coffee can off of all the stands with my golf club saying "get outta here coffee can". Nick, of course, being in public, was extremely profaine, teaching all the young children all sorts of four letter words. Nick and I were just laughing at everything. I have no idea why. Craig on the other hand was being extremely competitive as he always is in a high stakes game of mini golf. One of Craig's puts was important for some reason so we were all paying attention to what he was doing. He putted, and the ball circled around the edge of the cup, not going in. Nick, oblivious to the crowds of innocent, good natured people, and eager to use his new vocabluary that he also learned from Fred was quick to yell "Oh my god it gave it a rim job!" I laughed just because that was the kind of mood I was in. Craig, though, just sat there and stared at nothing. The look on his face was as if he was saying "thats just great, Nick, thank you for announcing that to the entire world." From this day on, this look became known as the Craig stare. It's fun to make Craig do it too.

Another interesting story as long as I'm talking about that evening. On the way home Craig was telling us about how by the concession stand there was a group of girls he was staring at. When he asked Nick for a piece of gum, instead of saying "Nick", he said "girlfriend". Fortunatley for him no one noticed, but he told us anyway and we, of course, told Ashley.
