Deep Core
Sector 1
The Deep Core, sometimes referred to as the Galactic Core, is the heart of the Galaxy. It is the densely packed mass of stars lying at the very heart of the galaxy. Since the gravitational pull of its myriad suns snarls the fabric of hyperspace, the region was long thought to be impenetratable. Former Emperor Palpatine, however, discovered several safe hyperlanes into the protected region, and it remained a stubborn Imperial stronghold for nearly two decades after the Battle of Endor. The star systems within the Deep Core are sometimes called the Core Systems.
Galactic Sector 1 is divided up into 4 Subdivisions on the current Republic Map.
