Ploovo Two-For-One was a bunko-steerer out of the Cron Drift, and Han Solo and Chewbacca made an unsuccessful attempt at clotheslegging in the Drift after leaving the Corporate Sector.
The hidden Alliance listening post Ax-235, located within the Drift's asteroid belt, intercepted what appeared to be the Death Star technical plans and relayed them to Alliance high command
prior to the Battle of Yavin. Around the same time, a Rebel formation was ambushed by Assault Gunboats in the asteroid belt but was rescued by X-wing fighters.
Kemplex IX
Nearly four thousand years ago, Kemplex Nine was a strategic jump-station in the Auril sector and the Cron system, and the
only inhabited outpost near the Cron Cluster. During the Sith War, Ulic Qel-Droma gave hints that he intended to attack the
undefended station, but it was merely a ruse to draw Republic defenses away from his true target of Coruscant. Later,
Qel-Droma did decide to hit Kemplex Nine, but this was meant to draw Jedi forces into a trap. Aleema and Crado, aboard an
ancient Sith ship, devastated the station and lured the pursuing Jedi fleet into the ten stars of the Cron Cluster. When they were
in position, Aleema activated the Sith weapon and inadvertently ignited all ten stars, utterly wiping out Kemplex Nine and the
entire surrounding area of space.
Nespis VIII
Once located at the node of the six remaining Auril systems near the Cron Drift, the now-destroyed Nespis VIII was a huge derelict space city. One of the largest of the ancient spaceports, Nespis VIII began its life as a remote beacon-point during the early days of hyperspace travel. Over thousands of years the beacon became a sprawling city, with a vast diversity of architectural styles and historical relics from nearly every period of space travel, including centuries-old murals of the Great Sith War. The city remained well- preserved in the vacuum of space and was abandoned long before the start of the Clone Wars. Six years after the Battle of Endor, Luke Skywalker freed Kam Solusar from the Dark Side of the Force while at Nespis VIII. Later that year (after the destruction of the command base on the fifth moon of Da Soocha), New Republic leaders established their new base at the remote space city, and Leia Organa Solo's third child Anakin was born there.
