The Dual Blade Lightsaber is a unique lightsaber.

It is similiar in design to the Double Bladed Lightstaff used by the Sith Darth Maul in the days before the Empire. Even though the Lightstaff was rumored to be able to break into two seperate weapons, this weapon does indeed seperate.

As can be seen in the illustration above there is a main power switch on the Lightsaber when it is whole. When the device is seperated into two seperate units each unit has it's own power switch.

There is a coupling unit in the middle of the unit as a whole. It is locked when used as a Dual Blade Lightsaber. The coupling unit can be unlocked by twisting it thus allowing the 'saber to seperate into the two conventional lightsabers.
