Bright and early on the morning of August 2, we discover a decorated car to celebrate 26 years of marriage.
We picked up David in Richmond; as usual,
David and Beth were captivated by the ride to Williamsburg!
We dined in high style and the King's Arms tavern in Williamsburg where
David instructed the diners in how to tie a "John Wayne" to keep the clothes tidy.  Beth didn't spill a drop!
After dinner,
we strolled back to the room.  Beth was oblivious of the camera as she enjoyed the evening walk.
We got to Southern Shores before noon on Friday.  We couldn't wait to hit the beach.
Beth made her move and found her own technique to get on the kayak.

Tina finally warmed up to the idea and discovered her new favorite pasttime.  We actually were able to catch up to a group of dolphins who were feeding beyond the sand bar.  We were close enough to hear and feel the spout and to see the eyes of the two calves as they stayed close beside their mom.
It was great to relax on the beach.  Slathered up with SPF45 and shaded by umbrellas, we survived the sunny days. David and Beth relax here.
Don looks relaxed and Tina catches up on some reading
After an jejune game of Probe, the
kids relax with an exhausting game of Connect Four.
Beth met up with friends from Ireland.  Amanda and Paula stayed the night and got up early in the morning for some kayaking.  They
arrived back at the house, washed up a bit before Paula had her very first Oreos and Fritos.
David left for Boston and we missed him at Jockey's Ridge.  Beth
brought a kite that actually flewDon helped out and Tina admired his work.... we always love the sunset on this spectaular dune.

When we got home
Beth started her homepage of pictures from her year in  Ireland.  Check in often!
