Can we use headlamps (task lighting) for our homes, instead of entire-room (overhead) lighting?
(Action: Turn off room lights. Hand out unique, high-powered "Luxeon" handlamps to students)
Discussion of "Luxeon" LED lights vs. room lights - what percent of energy is saved?
How long have internal combustion engines existed?
What other forms of energy has been used for cars?
How long have sailcars existed? History of sailcars in Egypt, China
When was the last sailcar in use? Which country?
Lesson: Sail car basic elements. Why is ballast needed?
Tear-proof paper for sails: (Kids cannot easily tear this paper. Fun)
Action:
Organize students into teams. Hand out parts kits.
Teams build sailcars.
