Patron
This person is expected to actively promote the Association through representation wherever possible. The Association may ask this person to attend functions on its behalf from time to time.

This position is not annually elected. 


Public Officer
The legal entity on behalf of the association, this person is responsible for ensuring the association is operating within the law and within its own rules, he/she is the legal watchdog of the association.

This position is not annually elected. 


President
Responsible for the day to day running of the association, calling and chairing meetings, coordinating sub-committees, arranging representation of the association at outside events.

This position is subject to annual election.  



Immediate Past President
The final duty for the president of the association this position ensures that the association does not spend each year repeating the previous, the past president is expected to assist the incoming president in an advisory role.  However if need be this person may be asked to take up the position as president in special circumstances.

This position is honorary not an elected position  


Vice President
Normally there are two Vice Presidents who are responsible for ensuring that those within the association have completed tasks within the designated timeline, he/she is also the associations' watchdog of the Public Officer.

This position is subject to annual election.  


Secretary
Responsible for all correspondence both in and out as well as keeping accurate records of the Association's membership list & investigating ways in which the membership can be increased, an accurate membership list must be provided to the Public Officer.

This position is subject to annual election.


Minutes Secretary

Responsible for the minutes of meetings.

This position is subject to annual election.


Treasurer
Responsible for keeping accurate records of the financial situation of the association, this information is to be supplied to the Public Officer on a regular basis.

This position is subject to annual election.  


Tunks Talk Editor
Responsible for the gathering of information for the production and distribution of the Tunks Talk Newsletter.  Including the AGM special edition this newsletter should be distributed four times annually.

This position is subject to annual election.  


Archivist
Responsible for the collation of ancestral information and maintaining the family database.  Also preserving written materials for future use.

This position is subject to annual election.


Social Officer
Responsible for gathering information and coordinating social events for the association.

This position is subject to annual election.  
These positions are voluntary it is therefore expected that from time to time those holding the positions may not be able to perform the duties required. Therefore, temporary vacancies in any of these positions or assistance in times of overwork (either within or out of the association) can be filled by other members of the committee. Elected persons are expected to utilise this where necessary to allow the association to operate smoothly.
