ALERT?!
If you haven't discovered already - I have nuked this page.  In the wake of MySpace and Facebook and all that other free and easily-maintained goodness, this page had become antiquated, and beyond that, I want to use all the bandwith to host pictures for classifieds and web-related hooliganism.  I'll leave all the blog stuff below, because I know everyone visits for my seamless prose.  Oooh - also - Geocities has totally changed since I've used this page, and it now has a little traffic report.  Apparently, someone has visited this site in the last week!  So, if I have killed your joy in my destructive behavior, do let me know - and I want to know who still rocks the |K|orner!  -  Kb
Some things are better laid to rest.

Sneak attack!  Just seeing who's paying attention... Had to touch up some non-|K|orner business, figured I'd stop by :)  Hope everyone's well!

Musical Selection de Sneak Attack: The Minibosses (www.minibosses.com)
The website will tell you all you need to know... I am very nearly jealous.  They play incredibly faithful renditions and medleys of 8-Bit Nintendo classics, and full on rock out!

Tuesday, August 31st, 2004
Well kids, it's been a while... and to be blunt, I've got some bad news.  The |K|orner is going on indefinite hiatus.  I know, I know.

I had all sorts of wonderful things planned, the "|K|orner's Biggest Fan" contest (there were some bold claims at the Brown Couch Barbeque), loads of music updates, pictures from Relay for Life, Will & Sarah's Wedding, and the infamous and aforementioned Brown Couch farewell, as well as some "vintage" photo galleries from old Kodak Picture CDs I unearthed this summer.  I even bought a ton of new drum stuff - though in keeping with the truly pathetic nature of that page, most of the pictures I'd have to add right now are of stuff I'll be selling soon anyway...

Here's the bottom line, less documenting = more living.  Don't think I'll stop toting the camera or anything like that (no one is THAT lucky), but for the moment, I can't sustain this page, nor do I want to.

What does that mean for you, the beloved |K|orner devotees?  Well, if you'd like to see some pictures, or check out my new purple drum kit, or listen to some great music, make your way up to Storrs!  Bring an instrument if you like, we'll order some Chinese, throw a bunch of records on the stereo and keep the spirit of the |K|orner beaming through the universe like those fuzzy absolute value bars.  If you have no idea what I'm talking about, well, then there's still more waiting for you here. Be good everyone, catch you all soon. - Kb
Complaints can be filed
here in triplicate.

Musical Selection de Hiatus: Menomena - I Am the Fun Blame Monster!
This was the record of the summer for me, even if it came out well before, and it just embodies everything that's right and all that's wrong with rock and roll (which WILL change!).  Quite simply, this record rocks out so hard while sounding so fresh, I will just let you discover the sound for yourself.  The grooves are DIRTY.  So what's wrong?  Good luck finding it in a store (although a new and well-deserved distribution deal may change that).  Either way, Best Buy will never have this album. Whip out the plastic, head to
CDBaby.com, and make yourself happy.

BONUS Cinematic Selection de Hiatus: Grind
If it is not now clear, the movies (just 2, but all the proof you need) I choose to champion on this site are generally under-the-radar, stupid comedies with limited cult potential. Yes, some would simply call them BAD. Whatever...  I'm not a cinema buff, but I have a good memory for quotes, and if you can get me to sit down for two hours, I am VERY easily entertained and have an easily triggered sense of humor (it's all about the nuances!).  As a result, I LOVE this movie. The plot is cheesy, some of the acting is sub-standard, and as it is a skateboard film, there's enough at-large marketing to toe the line between accuracy and aggressive product placement.
But I have two words for the haters: SWEET-LOU.  YES, he is partially derivative of Matthew McConaughey's character in "Dazed and Confused" but trust me, it REALLY does not matter.  It's just a fun film with some well timed humor and well-molded characters.  Give me a heads up, and I'll watch it with you - I purchased it (on the cheap, surprise!) here at school, and I don't even have a TV!

Spring is here, and so are finals - so consider this a brief and poignant farewell to the spring semester, and a pre-emptive hello to the wonders of summertime.  Getting down to business, several PICTURES have been added, including shots from Spring Weekend, Sirsa's Birthday (Scroll Down), and Will & Sarah's Engagement Party.  The DRUMS page has also been tweaked if anyone cares, biding its time before an overhaul this summer... Everyone enjoy your respective summers, and be sure to check in, as there's lots more on deck once these exams are over!

Musical Selection de Jour: Ha Ha the Moose - Live at BB King's 11/23/01
Fantastic Plastic will have to wait as I'm sticking to the understated roots of this feature today.  These guys are the finest power trio to ever grace a stage, and this performance was not only their unintentional swan song, but it's the consumate example of their musical prowess.  We can only hope that one day Sludge, Dr. Guano & Jeff rise from the proverbial barbeque sauced-stained ash to rock us again.

Sunday, April 18th, 2004

This is a feel good (or feel better) update for the dedicated |K|orner devotees - no more pessimism in the sauce - seriously.  After all, spring is just about here, the finish line for the semester is in sight, and there is a lot to look forward to!  For the moment, there's a lot of work to be done, so I'm not going to upload too many new pictures (though there are several awaiting attention, including shots from Easter, another ride cymbal, Will and Sarah's engagement party (which was a great time!) and one of my neighbor's beagle "Bob" stuck in the storm drain... I wonder which one will make the homepage header...
Otherwise, hmmm, I should get going.  Good luck to those of you staring down papers and finals, especially those of you donning the cap and gown in the next few weeks!  To everyone else soaking up the sun and waiting for new stuff, rest assured the |K|orner with be joining you on the deck momentarily with a barbeque spatula in one hand and a frisbee in the other!

Musical Selection de Jour: Music of the Times...
Hmmmm, I'm not playing by the rules today - but I can do whatever I want, really.  Reading over the previous updates, I'm realizing how indie-rock intensive the MSdJ has been.  Fairly enough, that's been my predominant scene of late, but the summer tends to usher in an entirely different, broad sect of stuff, from Joni Mitchell and James Brown, to Bob Marley and the Grateful Dead.  Some of this stuff just can't be played below certain temperatures!  So in readying the |K|orner for the lawn-dancing, frisbee thrashing, burger eating wave of rolled-down window tunes, the de Jour will feature the special records from the last few months (weeks... days!) who's time of unparalleled devotion occured inbetween updates, or was simply consistently awesome.  Most of them will keep kicking all summer long anyway, but I may just start using this feature to mention the actual record I'm listening to (the afformentioned "True de Jour") instead of the one I feel like writing about.  I'll think about it - it's entirely possible the new Wilco record would be the only entry from June onwards - we'll see!

Fantastic Plastic (oooh, not a bad name for a parallel feature!)
The Decemberists - Her Majesty the Decemberists
Earlimart - Everyone Down Here
The Elected - Me First
Modest Mouse - Good News for People Who Love Bad News
The Shins - Chutes Too Narrow
Super Furry Animals - Phantom Power

All business today kids - unfortunatley.  The drums page has actually been updated for the first time in six or seven years, with more on the way (of course). A few more UConn pictures have been added along with another picture gallery detailing even more "college life", or something loosely resembling it.  I'm sorry to be so vanilla - just not feeling up to the |K|orner's normally buoyant standards lately.  I'd like to pretend this page is a source of levity, life and inspiration - and as it's not providing the wit and whimsy of late, I'll leave you in the capable hands of my
good friend.

Muscial Selection de Jour: Beth Orton - Daybreaker
OK, that's a lie.  I did listen to Beth Orton the other day, but I've truly been on an almost exclusive diet of Ween (Quebec) and Grandaddy (Everything I can find) since the last update.  I don't want to become predictable or boring though, so it's Beth Orton.  If you have the fingers to point and click your way here, or even special voice recognition software, you are probably capable of liking Beth Orton though, so I'm playing for the people!

Monday, March 22, 2004
Hey all - some new stuff to chew on as we forge ahead into spring... any day now...    In anticipation, the |K|orner needed a little spring cleaning.  I'm not feeling very revelatory at the moment, but here's the low down...
The "artsy photos" have been removed  a) because I've had just about enough winter in real time and  b) because the
new photos from Lake Tahoe just dwarf whatever beauty the others may have had.  Also, if you want to see what my new place looks like, well, you'll have to come visit :)  After some consideration, I've nixed the quote board as well, simply because humor is a context-laden phenomenon, and try as I might, not everything can or should be documented.  That, and I couldn't end every entry with, "I guess you had to be there".
That said, there are quite a few new goodies.  I've added photos from
Will's Bachelor Party along with the scenic Tahoe photos.  Some new links have been added as well.  UConn Underground is a campus group dedicated to bringing live music to school, which you will hear much more about soon. I've also posted a bunch of links to bands I've been habitually rocking out to, so check that out.  Most notably though, I give you willandsarah.net!  Follow Will, Sarah, and the rest of us for that matter, as we journey towards the magical day on May 29th!
As for me - well - I'm not feeling up to sharing much for whatever reason.  I have tons to say about spring break, but I think I'll let the pictures do the talking for once.  I'm also abstaining from commentary on my uncle's annual NCAA hoops pool, because I actually still have a shot at winning after the first two rounds - and talking smack, as I did last year, would seem to contradict the potential karmic forces at work.  Depending on how the Sweet 16 goes... it could get
ugly.

Musical Selection de Jour: entire Grandaddy catalog, constant rotation.
It feels like they're playing in the room next door.

Sunday, Febraury 29th, 2004
Wow - the semester is nearly half over!  It still feels as if I just got here... Well far be it from me to plunge into mid-terms and spring break without playing for the people.  The good technology (digital camera) has reared it's shinny silver head a few times this winter, with mostly the same reception as the old disposables used to get - scorn, ridicule, contempt.  The ability to delete photos seems hardly the consolation.  No matter - no one has been as harsh as a disgruntled Pacific Sunwear employee who threatened to throw me out of the store despite a genuinely contrite apology.  I'm sad that I didn't take her picture as we were leaving though.
Classes are going well, and campus life is starting to shape up a bit.  I've joined up with a fledgling operation known as UConn Underground, a group dedicated to bringing live grooves to this music-starved campus.  We're still in need of  notariety among the student body, as well as some PA gear, but hopefully we'll put on some good fundraising concerts after the break and acquire some more man-power and cash as the weather gets warmer.
I've also hopped back on the drum stool after searching out some musicians on campus.  The efforts have been mostly jamming thus far, but it's great to be consistently playing with other people again!  It took forever to find a practice space, only to find out that there are quite a few spots to play... A disproportionately large and sarcastic "thanks" to the music department, who basically lied to my face about rehearsal space and tried to divert my efforts to other venues and campus burreaucracies.  It's good to know that the department champions (unecessary) resource-protection over the encouragement of the musical growth of students - truly disheartening.
Anyhow - pop over to pictures to get a few snippets of what "college life" looks like thus far. And COMING SOON... it's THE QUOTE BOARD! so you can also HEAR what campus sounds like (at 2 a.m. and/or 12 degrees).  There are more updates in the works as always, drums of course, and commentary on the pending reality-TV series known as the Major League Baseball 2004 Season!  Students wear their "Sawks" caps like little badges of shame up here, and I'm fearful for the safety of my pinstripes in the dining hall on opening day. - Kb

Musical Selection(s) de Jour:   Ween - All Request Live   /   Rooney - Rooney
Very uncharacteristically, these two CDs were about all I listened to for a week straight.  They never left the stereo, and nothing else went in either.  It was bizarre. really bizarre.  The Ween disc came in the mail, hopped out of the box and started rocking my face day after day without even having a home on the shelf!  Pretty awesome, and naturally something that doesn't happen too frequently.  The Rooney disc... well, to use that cliched "rock-sex" metaphor, if Blue-Album Weezer and the Beach Boys had a child, it could be Rooney... and I'll cut the metaphor off there.  And it's CATCHY - the hooks are great, the songs are distinguishable, thumbs up from me.  As for Ween, well, I may very well be on the cusp of discovering a "new-favorite-band" (since we're kicking around cliches).  These guys do it all, good songwriting, rocking out, supreme stylistic variance, subtle humor - and they do it in a way (consumate irreverence/wackiness) that you have to wrap your head around and suspend conventions in order to fully appreciate.  My cup of tea.

Monday, January 26th, 2004
Now I'm just spoiling you guys... Two updates in five days!?  I'm sure I'd be humbled if I put a counter on this site!  Anyhow - of course this leaves me with very little to share, as only so much can happen over the weekend... actually, I shouldn't say that... but this weekend anyway.  UConn and I are getting to know one another though, slowly but surely - and the pace only picks up from here - which is why this is a perfect time to pull the sheet off of the last bit of pending business! Many of you may have noticed the addition of some adorable absolute value bars to the Korner "K" not too long ago - and far be it from me not to explain these monumental diversions of nomenclature.  Know that it was a compromise of the heart... Know that threats were made... Know that it's for a better |K|orner...
READ ABOUT THE BIRTH OF THE |K|ORNER!  It's not quite Picture Pages (Neither the bee pen, nor Bill Cosby made it to Storrs) but it is a fairly interactive and example-laden account.
Enjoy - Kb

Musical Selection de Jour: Rainer Maria - Long Knives Drawn
Apparently it is not cool to like this album... something about an emo backlash, a transgression of roots, someone broke someone else's glasses, I don't know.  The point being, I know rock - and this rocks.  All of it doesn't rock, and yeah - some of the lyrics, borderline (especially since you can understand them).  But if the opening of this album doesn't have you banging your head on the ceiling fan when you get up in the morning - time for a pulse check.  Soaring female vocals (personal bias - noted), inventive lines and freewheeling song structure = fun.

P.S. - I can't figure out what's up with the four-lane highway between each old update - it is not by design - so my apologies!

Thursday, January 22nd, 2004
It's the first update of the New Year, and I hope it finds everyone well.  Certainly much has changed with yours truly, and consequently, the Korner has been infused with some new life and large updates.  The latter you can discover for yourself, but as a sinopsis - let's just say that the picture page has given birth to seven healthy babies.
On the personal front - I have finally escaped the surroundings of Southwestern CT, and headed upstate to scenic (VERY scenic) Storrs, and the main campus of the University of Connecticut.  Huge thank you's to all the people who made it possible in one way or another, UConn is a pretty cool place... and by cool, I definitely mean ICE COLD - it's bloody freezing! Not that I didn't see it coming, and nor will I complain.  Speaking of freezing though, I hear hell is also rather nippy this time of year, and news reports indicate an influx of pigs at local flight training facilities... yes, that's right... the corporate giants have bought my mind (Professor Beall said that)... I... have... a cell phone.  If you're here, the odds are you already have the number, if not - click on Terry above and I'll send it to you along with whatever other info you need.  Balancing out my technilogical karma though, Santa was stupendous enough to bless me with a digital camera this Christmas, hence the explosion of the photo pages.  This is the part where everyone that gives me a hard time for taking their picture wishes they were in a few more - but regardless - enjoy!  Also included are some artsy and playfully edited photos I've taken, as well as some shots of my new room, so slide on over to the
PICTURES.
In all hopes, this won't be the last time the site is updated this semester, but who can say?!  Nodar is working on some drums of mine at the moment, I adopted a beautiful Zildjian before I left home, and one of these days I'll post the explanation of the name-change (lots of typing).  Stay tuned as usual. - Kb

Musical Selection de Jour:
In keeping with the excess of this update and the amount of music discovered in the last month, here's a triple-scoop:

Bjork - Vespertine
Bjork, who knew?  Rediscovery as tastes change is a brilliant thing - and this is a true de Jour.

moe. - The Whole INSTNAT LIVE Series
I don't own them all, and putting Clear Channel ties aside, I just have to give it up for the two whole tours of moe. soundboards that now exist, that wouldn't have otherwise.

The Strokes - Room on Fire
No one wants to hate the Strokes more than I do, but this album is really really good, and worse yet, you can tell the band is really really good too.  This isn't a misappropriated identity case a la the White Stripes or a timing/misunderstanding thing like Sonic Youth, I may be on my way to conversion - which is a HIGH if not THE compliment to a group of musicians.  Maybe this is why hell is frozen.

Monday, December 16th, 2003
So much is happening people, and in truth, a whole lot of it is good!  May the holidays find you in the same stead.  Where to begin... Well, tomorrow I am going to see all three of the Lord of the Rings movies in succession on the big screen (two Extended Editions, plus the new one) - how rad is that!?  Water intake will be under strict surveilance.  Snow - how about snow - how about snow every weekend?  How about snow confining me to my house when I need to be doing other things?  Last update, I did neglect to mention the (un)official first snow ritual - which is to find a secluded suburban woodland neighborhood, wait for the big flakes and nightfall, get in your vehicle of choice, and rock out insanely loud to "Shine on You Crazy Diamond" (Parts I-V) as the snow swirls through the headlights... It runs the gamut from spooky to empowering.  Sure, it sounds like there are a lot of stipulations, but if you're dedicated - that album sleeps in the car until the white stuff shows up.  Also, if you happen to wake up to snow on a free weekend morning, you are eating pancakes in whatever you slept in, or for some, whatever you put on right after you wake up ;)
Christmas shopping is crazy, hey?  Worse than that - no one seems to be having fun with it - and that's just sad.  I had a great outing the other evening, which included some excellent purchases, trying on top coats and gangster hats with some guys in Macys, and getting a whole Sbarro pizza for $5 because they were closing - timing is everything! Here's wishing everyone much luck with the end of their semesters and last minute Christmas shopping.  In so far as updates, the picture page has been revamped, and includes some of Senora Norman's snapshots from the aforementioned high school reunion.  Check the links page to see her entire photo album.  All the other images have been gutted in anticipation of a large Christmas/Drum influx.  If there are any you miss, let me know. Stay tuned!

Musical Selection de Jour: Grandaddy - The Sophtware Slump
This album is ridiculously good... and I'm at a loss for words besides that.

Wednesday, December 10, 2003 (...about time!)
In my world it's still Tuesday evening for those of you scoring at home.  For the rest of you, but mostly me, today may as well be Friday - because the Fall Semester is over!   To celebrate, like a well trained American consumer, I went to Sierra Grille and then out shopping.  Then in true contradictory fashion, I rewarded my recent weight loss with some (much needed) "motivational clothing" - that is, stuff that won't fit if I don't stay on my game; then, logically, I got a frosty at Wendy's.  I also stopped by the new Best Buy, and though it is cool, I think the "super low price" mistique must be a regional thing, because it's still toe to toe with Circuit City as far as I can see, if not a bit more pricey.  That said, the Best Buy staff seems to be more with it and the store seems more on the ball with "new releases".  However, there's a charm to Circuit City's complete disorganization and haphazard wholesale purchasing that somewhat resembles a poorly run independent record store.  Since indie stores are being driven out of Fairfield County as fast as mini vans and common courtesy, you've gotta hold on to something!  Plus, points off for Best Buy not having any Pavement records.

Anyway... the celebration of course signifies that I am on vacation and have no idea what to do with myself, though I'm chock full of ideas an ambitions, not to mention a little holiday travel itinerary.  Yes yes, the rumors are true, there will be NO Bulakowski Christmas extravaganza this year.  That means no village, no chocolate chip cake, no scampi-land and a lot of other things, including no Bulakowskis!  Indeed, Lauren is graduating early, and so we are all convening in Indiana for the ceremony, and staying through Christmas.  It should be a great time, but a big change also, at a time rife with shifting dynamics.  Speaking of which, come spring time, my locus will be changing as well - I am headed up to Storrs, where most of the UConn magic happens.  Stay tuned for details about that as well as the recent website "Name Edit" you may have noticed... Also on the way: the elusive new drum pictures, other rad pictures, more frequent (not so long-winded) updates and whatever else happens between now and then.  Be sure to check out the newest link - the New Canaan High School Class of '98 Reunion Page.  The reunion did indeed happen, it was a great time, and there is a bunch of "evidence" on the site.  I have some of my own pictures that are waiting to be developed.

On the musical front - I was thinking of doing one of those "year end" accolade type lists, but decided against it, as I would take it too seriously and waste too much time doing it.  We'll leave the sentiment in rolling prose form:  Rilo Kiley's "The Execution of All Things" is as good if not better (egad!) than a Shrimp Burrito with Pico de Gallo (No Kiwi Salsa) from Sierra Grill.  Were that burrito made by robots instead of humans, then it would be The Postal Service's "Give Up".  Coincidentally, if I were to start creating 8 bit video games for fun or profit, I would have Jimmy Tamborello do the sound effects and background music and have Ben Gibbard compose a song called "My Princess is in Another Castle" for the end credits.  To round out the whimsy superlatives, accolades to The Frames album "For the Birds" which is just beautiful, tender and kick ass all at once - check these guys out!  moe.'s "Wormwood" transcends the crappy "jam band" label and will rock your face clean off.  Come see them with a bunch of us in Philadelphia for New Year's!  Steven Malkmus' "Pig Lib" is the rock record I always wanted, even if I didn't know it, and triple word score for spawning the best investigation of a back catalog (Pavement) maybe ever.  Pavement would have won in the "I Can't Believe I Just Starting Listening to These Guys This Year" category, if it existed.
To close, Cat Power's "The Covers Album" makes me want to do and feel all sorts of wonderful things.
And as if you didn't have enough...

Musical Selection de Jour: Portishead - Portishead
Why?  It is a true "de jour", because I am literally listening to it de jour, ahora in fact, having just bought it.  Spooky, haunting, quirky and groovy - I like it - can't wait to dig into it further.

ABORTED UPDATE - Sunday, October 26th
(11/25) Here at the "Korner" we're all about the deep cuts.  We would never hold back information from you, only to release it after you were comfortable with the initial content, and the amount of said content.  That would be extorting your curiosity and penchant for consumption, much as Columbia records "Legacy Editions" and a host of other remastering-happy record execs screw over those of us with uncontrollable record buying habits.  That said, before I get on to any new updates - and they ARE coming - here's a outtake from October that didn't see daylight:

Well, the baseball season is over, just like that.  I would expound upon everything that's happened, but I just don't feel like it.  Rationale doesn't put rings on fingers, and the two words that resonate in my head after the Yanks' World Series performance are "gutless" and "lackadaisical".  That is not to take anything away from the Marlins... well maybe just a little bit.  Moreover I am going to hold my tongue in prognosticating anything about the off-season.  Expect comment when the salivating, spin-crazy media has something concrete.
There's been an awful lot going on here lately, but frankly, none of it belongs on this web page.  For that matter, I will go ahead and announce that there has been some internal backlash to the internet of late - so much so that I'm considering not having/bringing a personal computer if/when I head up to Storrs this spring.  Just remember, the way I dunk on you is going to look unorthodoxed..
.

Tuesday, October 7, 2003

Very interesting times, very interesting.  The war starts tomorrow at 161st Street in the Bronx.  The likelihood that I will do nothing so long as this series is taking place... I'd say strong, strong to very strong.  Too bad we're getting the prime time snub from the overrated Cubs.  What else what else - School of Rock is a fine film, one that I will probably see again, which should speak for its worth!  I'm never really amped over movies either, but that and the Matrix / Lord of the Rings barrage over the next few months is really bad ass.  As for me, I am currently trying to forge the future on 8.5 x 11 sheets of paper - more info to follow.  As for the updates, check out the Unofficial Sunday Ritual and UConn Spies under pictures, and I am proud to have a new link - Lauren's Locus - the internet venture of none other than my little sis!  Check her out!  Be good everyone!

Musical Selection de Jour: Sonic Youth - Dirty
The first time I heard Sonic Youth I hated them.  This happens to me with a lot of bands.  Now I would kill for a recording of the mind melt they threw down in Memphis in 2000 - needless to say I didn't "get it" at the time.  All this record buying and art appreciating comes full circle doesn't it?  This album rocks, but not in the traditional sense - get ready for anger and noise and formless social wit. Not for Everyone :)

BONUS Cinematic Selection de Jour: Kung Pow - Enter the Fist
When I was old enough to realize that Men in Tights and Ski Patrol were movies unique in their stupidity, endless appeal, and VHS durability in the Bulakowski home, I was sad to think that in my slowly ripening age that there may never be another film to match the quotabiliy, and "just the right vibe" quotient to be connonized the way those two had.  Enter Kung Pow.  This movie is dumb, this movie is low budget, this movies rawks.  Behold as it slowly creeps its way into the vernacular of the extended family - or maybe just E and I.  We're all getting older, but not an ounce more mature (after the salad anyway).

Sunday, September 14, 2003
Well - a few weeks on the shelf and this place is getting a face lift!  Since I'm using primitve web editing tools, it's much easier to update everything if I split it up into subpages, so subpages you shall have!  It'll probably be a little while until there's actual "new content", so we are all smoke and mirrors thus far... "We're going for a whole new style!"  You can decide if it's "hella tight" or not...  Shoot me an e-mail with your suggestions, and check below for the NEW list of BIG links! - Kb

Musical Selection de Jour: The Poor Rich Ones - Happy Happy Happy
(Continues to be Awesome)

Wednesday, September 17, 2003
As Wednesdays go, I suppose this one ranks up there in a not sensational but good within the ordinary sense. The Yanks are up 5-1/2, classes are finished until Monday, and there's a new teen girl squad - I even had a real fruit smoothie today after my workout, all right...  I have added a new link to the links page - Andrew Corey's digital photography!  Sure he's just messing around, but you can catch a glimpse of his new city (Seattle), his new place (babe lair), and the inner workings of his psyche (?).  Enjo
y!

Musical Selection de Jour:  Rilo Kiley - The Execution of All Things
I have a huge weakness for women that can sing.  Bonus points if they rock, and double secret bonus points when they can drop the sporadic but appropriate F-Bomb with no pretense.  I wouldn't call the music straight ahead rock and roll though, as there's quite a bit of playful instrumental and vocal texture that gives the album frailty and charm.  Good stuff.  I haven't listened to it enough to describe it in more detail than that, but I have been enjoying it!

Sunday, August 24, 2003
Hey all - this is my lame attempt at a web page.  Of course the title is even more lame (suggestions?) but I knew the K would eventually come in handy, I guess... Anyhow, depending on how the semester goes, this could be a fun place to check back to every now and again - it's all on me huh?  Well, that, and how often I can gank my boss' digital camera, or how soon I can snag one myself...
If you're here for the drums, thanks for visiting, and sorry for all the fluff!

Musical Selection de Jour:  Stephen Malkmus & The Jicks - Pig Lib
