Hammer films attempted to take up where Hollywood left off, and released "The Curse of Frankenstein" in 1956. Shown here is Christopher Lee in the role of Frankenstein's Monster. The make-up used on Lee had to be re-invented as Universal Studios maintained the copyright on the make-up used for Boris Karloff.
American International's 1957 release of "I was a Teenage Frankenstein". The monster was played by Garry Conway and the evil scientist was portrayed by Whit Bissell (next to the table)
Karloff in 1935's "Bride of Frankenstein" Dr. Frankenstein was portrayed by Colin Clive.
