American Square Dancing and Calling
I was introduced to Square Dancing in January 1987 and had so much fun making mistakes, that I just had to learn to do it properly (the Square Dancing, not making mistakes... I was already adept at making mistakes). When the opportunity arose to take lessons, Sandra and I jumped at the chance.
In January 1994 I decided to try my hand at entertaining the dancers by getting on the other side of the microphone and becoming a Square Dance Caller.
I share the privilege of calling for two clubs (three nights a week) with a Cliff Anderton of Harrogate, England.
Although I enjoy calling the Mainstream, Plus programs, most of all I enjoy causing people to have FUN!

I discovered Trains at an early age. I don't remember which Christmas I was given my Lionel Train set, but every Christmas that I remember, it was set-up and running around the Christmas Tree. In 1959, I became interested in "Scale MODEL Trains" (there is a considerable difference, for those who didn't know).
About the same year, I was given the opportunity to "drive" a diesel switching locomotive belonging to the Terminal Railroad Association of St. Louis. It's a very long story, but suffice it to say that my interest in Trains, both real and scale model, was fired by that experience. And so far, the fire has never died out.
I have constructed a few scale model layouts since 1959, most of which were dreamed of for many years, before becoming reality. The most significant layouts (which were as complete as model railroads get) were constructed since 1970. I still own and operate the latest two "completed" model railroads.
There's always one or two model layouts in my day dreams, which are "just about to have the first spike driven". So, "That's Not All, Folks!"

While on active duty with the U.S. Air Force, in England (1967-70), I met, fell in love and married my wife, Sandra.
We have two wonderful sons, Brett and David.
We have lived in Florissant, Mo., Sunnyvale, Ca., Alice Springs, Australia and presently reside in Knaresborough, England, where I am employed as a computer maintenance engineer.
Music, singing and making music with one of my guitars, keyboard or 5-string banjo (in order of perceived competence). Country, Pop, Rock-N-Roll, Folk, Big Band, Easy Listening, Show Tunes, Gospel, R&B, Jazz & Classics, tend to be what I listen to. Heavy Metal, Acid Rock & Opera tend to fall into the category of "tolerance music" (I can tolerate it for two or three minutes a week).
Still other interests are Using Computers, Working with Arts, Crafts and Architecture.
