| Rhytmic Olympic champion Yulia Barsukova will quite gymnastics and start figure skating. The 21-year old (who will turn 22 december 31) says she is too old for gymnastics now. She started figure skating six years before she began with gymnastics and thinks she can continue with that sport. If she will be good enough for major competitions is not sure yet, but I think this girl can do anything! |

| 19-3-01: Dutch Verona van de Leur has won gold on bars at the French Telecom competition. With a 9.300 she had by far the highest score on bars. On floor she placed 4th. Zamolodchikova took two golds and a silver. |
| 3-04-01 Verona van de Leur has won silver on floor at the Cottbus Cup, last weekend. Due to a little step out of bounds, she missed 0.10 to tie with Lobaznyuk. Verona placed 4th on vault and 6th on bars. |
| 18-06-01 The Dutch Nationals were dominated by Verona van de Leur who won the AA and three golds in the event finals (bars, beam and floor). Second place was for Gabriella Wammes. Monique Nuijten placed third and won gold on vault in the event finals. |
