Montage of:1. CU of a hand carves a small key in a very dark room.
2. CU of a white-gloved hand enters into an aquarium, and
then grabs a little green turtle.
3. LS of dimly lit and decaying apartment hallway.

CUT TO:
2 INT. GEORGE'S APARTMENT / KITCHEN - DAY
A dark kitchen barely lit by the daylight. Remains of chopped vegetables and several cookbooks are spread on the dirty sink. A medium size pot is boiling on a rusty range.
GEORGE, 22 years old, wearing thick eyeglasses and white cook's shirt tries cook's hat in front of a mirror. Suddenly, small KITCHEN CLOCK RINGS loudly. GEORGE hurries up, walking into the kitchen. He takes off the lid and carefully sips with a ladle. After a bit of moment, his face is getting distorted and spit it at the sink.
Close-up of the pot. A nasty looking noodle soup is in the pot.

3 INT. HALLWAY IN THE APARTMENT - DAY
A dimly lit and decaying apartment hallway. George comes out of his room and walks out of the frame. JOSEPH of about 8 wearing knitting cap and having couple of keys on his neck walks into the hallway.
CUT TO:
4 INT. GEORGE'S APARTMENT - DAY
KEY INSERTING SOUND. A doorknob slowly moves. The entrance door slowly opens and Joseph's feet steps into the room.
In a dark dining room, a fishbowl lies on the dining table. Joseph walks close to the table. He finds a turtle inside the fishbowl and smiles.
CUT TO:
5 INT. CHINESE RESTAURANT - NIGHT
Inside a small take-out Chinese restaurant, George wearing a shabby t-shirt stands at the front desk and seriously reads a cookbook. CHOPPING SOUND and FRYING FOOD SOUND comes out from kitchen. George glimpses and walks to the kitchen.
Two Chinese COOKS busy on cooking in the kitchen. George hiding behinds the wall enviously watches their cooking skill. One of the Cooks feels George's strange looking tries to block his frying fan with his body. George gives up but grabs two turners and pretends the Cook. He is getting high on his skill.
Camera jumps to the outside of the restaurant. A METAL DROPPING SOUND and CHINESE SWEARWORDS is heard distantly.
CUT TO:
6 INT. GEORGE'S APARTMENT - NIGHT
A small rabbit doll falls down because of Joseph's toy gun. Joseph looks at the turtle with a glimpse of smile.
In the florescent-lit kitchen, Joseph opens the refrigerator to find some food. He grabs some vegetables and a bottle of juice.
Camera cuts to the candle-lit dining room. Joseph and the turtle are having a dinner together. Joseph pours water to a small plate and tosses with his juice cup. He confidently watches that the turtle drinks the water.
At the bottom of the table, some cookbooks are seen and the name "Chinese Medicine Cooking" is slowly revealed.
CUT TO:
7 INT. HALLWAY IN THE APARTMENT - NIGHT
Joseph comes out of George's room and slowly vanishes into the dark hallway. George walks into the hallway and enters to his room.
