thai ta / BLOG 6 HOME MY BLOG MY TWO CENTS next blog ... January 2006 / We humans have a unique trait compared to other animals -- the ability to fantasize. Animals dream at night, I have no doubt, and those who have pet dogs can agree with me on this. As for communication skills, plants and trees possess them too. I saw a nature program that shows how giraffes have to graze carefully against the wind because the leaves on the trees that they munch would send out signals to other trees and the leaves would emit a bitter unappetizing chemical to fight off the giraffes. Animals can laugh and cry. We ponder. We project our thoughts to wherever our fancies would take us. To the uncertain future. There's a theory that because of this ability that we have God. We want to believe there's order in this world. That there's an ultimate answer to everything. Maybe simply because the other alternative is too horrific to accept. About 1 to 10 percent of people are atheists. I don't believe God loves them any less. Just like I don't believe God loves the saintly souls more. I'm okay with the belief that God loves me, Buddha, Jesus Christ, angels in heaven, creatures in hell, Hitler, Ho Chi Minh, Mother Teresa, movie stars, etc. all the same. I myself wouldn't, but God would. I like prophecies. They're fun to read, but of course foolish to believe. Almost ten years ago The Bible Code by Michael Drosnin promised these events. Actually, they are more like probabilities. -- Big Earthquake in Los Angeles, the year 2010. -- World War III, 2000 or 2006. -- Great Earthquake in Japan and/or China that leads to global economic collapse, 2000 or 2006. -- Comet threat, 2006, 2010, or 2012. -- Swift Comet returns, 2126. -- Cursed date of Jerusalem, July 25. -- The GREAT TERROR, 2000, 2014, or 2113. I know. The "or" is very convenient, but he explained about the interpretation's margin of error, so... 2006. Let's see if anything happens. The "sleeping prophet" Edgar Cayce had this to say in his book My Life as a Seer . "And I had a dream in which I was reborn in 2158 A.D. in Nebraska. The sea apparently covered all of the western part of the country, as the city where I lived was on the coast. The family name was a strange one. At an early age as a child I declared myself to be Edgar Cayce who had lived two hundred years before. Scientists, men with long beards, little hair, and thick glasses, were called in to observe me. They decided to visit the places where I said I had been born, lived and worked, in Kentucky, Alabama, Ohio, and Virginia. Taking me with them the group of scientists visited these places in a long, cigar-shaped, metal flying ship which moved at high speed. Water covered part of Alabama, Norfolk, Va., had become an immense seaport. New York had been destroyed either by war or an earthquake and was being rebuilt. Industries were scattered over the countryside. Most of the houses were of glass. Many records of my works as Edgar Cayce were rediscovered and collected. The group returned to Nebraska taking the records with them to study." Ah, poor New York! Yet, as the song goes, "If I can make it there, I can make it anywhere..." Christians, Jews, and Muslims place Jerusalem as THE place that decides our fate. But in my opinion, you should look at New York and Paris, the symbols of capitalism and culture. They disappear? We disappear! A little prophecy of my own. I predict that 2006 will be a FABULOUS year for all of us. I predict that we will take more responsibilities for our own HAPPINESS. If you depend on anyone or anything too much for that, you'll be disappointed, for sure. Love to all. Remember, God loves us ALL the same. |
