She yawned, as she looked out the window. The sun was almost in the sky fully, so it must have been pretty early.
"I wonder if Zelgadiss-san will be there." she asked herself, slightly blushing.
She looked over at the dress she prepared to wear. It was a nice light green, underneath a layer of mesh. You know, those.... black hole type things that make your dress look darker?
Anyways. She dropped her night gown on the ground, and took the dress off the hanger.
With a sigh, she looked in the mirror, admiringly.
She was very pretty, actually. Although many people don't exactly like her, she has many good features. Her hair shone with the light of the sun, and smelled like Herbal Essence. ^_^ The green dress was tight down to her waist, and showed how much she grew over the years. The bottom of her dress was big, and waved as she turned in front of the mirror.
Satisfied, she placed a small green head band on her hair, which shone like a pretty crown.
"I can't wait to see everyone again! Well... atleast I think so...." she thought for a moment, then srugged.
"Lina, Gourry, guys... Here I come!" she stood proud, and grabbed Lina's present, before she ran right passed the sleeping guards, and out the door.
"Oops! My night gown!" with one wuick trip back to her room, she ran back out of the castle with a big bag, and a big smile.
Zelgadiss was walking slowly, and un-excitedly towards Lina's Inn. He was very far away, and didn't bother to Ray-Wing.
Thoughts rushed through his head all at once, as he suddenly came to a stop.
"Oops.... I need to get her a present....." he thought, and realized what the best present would be. With a smile, he shrugged, and continued to walk.
He pulled out Gourry's note, and read it over again. 'How could Gourry remember Lina's B-Day, anyways?' he thought to himself.
"A sleep-over? How come I never saw that before? *sigh* Oh well. I won't be staying for that long." he suddenly had an image of Gourry, Lina, and Amelia, begging him to stay.
"UGH! Fine! Stupid imagination. Always proves me wrong... I know if I don't sleep-over, they will definately say that." he shrugged. "Might as well take a break. Haven't found my cure yet, anyways."
He looked up from re-reading the letter, and noticed he was near a small town. He picked up his pace, and decided to buy some sleep wear, and get Lina her present.
"It won't be too bad...." he concluded.
"Will you be back soon?" asked Jillas.
"Well, in this letter it says that the party is a sleep-over, so I guess I'll be back sometime tomorrow, ok?"
"Alright. Have fun then!" waved Gravos.
"Yeah! You look great!" agreed the red fox looking Jillas.
Filia looked back at the two waving, and yelled, "Take care of Valgaav for me!"
Her blond hair swung freely on her shoulders, and her elf looking ears stood out, with her priestess hat off.... She wore a nice summer pink dress, with a yellow border on the bottom by her knees, and a yellow bow atop her chest. The dress hung onto her arms, instead of shoulders, and gave everyone she passed a smile. Ofcourse, they smiled back at such a pretty sight. The little yellow flower in her hair made her appearance look cuter, too. ^_^
In her hands she held a basket, that made people stop, and wonder what was in it. A blue-checkered blanket covered the top, so nobody would peek inside, and her PJ's were neatly folded above it.
Humming her theme song, she swiftly walked towards the place Lina and Gourry were staying at.
"I'm sure Lina would love my present!"
Xelloss respectfully bowed in front of the human Beastmaster.
"The sorceress Lina Inverse is having her birthday today -as you know- and I was invited to join her surprise party that I helped plan. May I have your final answer to let me attend it?" he asked, as he knelt on the floor.
"Her birthday? Oh yes! I see. What will you be giving her?" she asked.
"Well, I was thinking of giving her another amplifier, you know, for her magic, but realized that might not be a good idea-- So I guess I'll just give her this...." he held up a red... thing... and smiled.
"Hmmm.... alright. Have fun. WAIT a second. Why on earth are you giving her that?" asked the bug-eyed beatsmaster.
"Well, you know... I think she might be needing it sooner or later."
"Uh-huh..... anyways. You can go."
Xelloss silently cheered, and thanked his master.
"Oh, and Xelloss? Why don't you give them a real party, ne?"
"Oh don't worry master, I have it all planned out." *grins evily*
With that, the trickster disappeared, and went to take the huge cake to Gourry.
Lina yawned, and looked at her clock. 10:30am.
"Still early.... I'm going back to bed." --_--
*SNORE*
Gourry was humming to himself the song Happy Birthday, and was making sure everything was in perfect place, a smile always on his face.
"HI GOURRY!" yelled the excited Amelia.
"Amelia! It's been awhile!" replied the happy Gourry, with a peace sign.
Amelia gasped in awe, as she saw the decorations. The room was huge! Gourry spent so much time in preparing, and he even rented this place out with money that he was saving since last year.
"Everything's so pretty....!"
"You can say that again!" said Xelloss appearing with cake. "Gourry, just a suggestion... why don't you see what Lina is doing? You don't want her to get too suspicious...."
"Right! Ok! See ya two later! Thanks for coming!!!!" he yelled running out the door.
After Gourry left, Amelia eyed Xelloss.
"Xelloss..... what are you doing here?"
"Oh.. you know.... helping Gourry...." he said scratching the back of his head.
"Uh-huh... OOOO! You got Lina a present too??!!??" she said staring happily at the packages he was holding.
"Well, this is the cake, and this is her present."
"The cake!!! It's so big!!!!! Can I see it?" she pleaded.
"Sure!" Xelloss lifted the top of the cake box, and Amelia's eyes went starry.
"WOW!!!!!!!! IT's SOOOO CUTE!!!! Oh! Look! There's me in the star suit! And you, and Zel!!! AND GOURRY! Awwwwwwwwww!!!"
"If you like it, then Lina should love it!" Xelloss laughed. It was Gourry's idea, but he asked me to make it." smiled the trickster.
"YOU made this???"
"Well... with some instructions, I think I did pretty well!"
"Yeah... I hope it isn't poisoned.... Oh!! Filia's so cute!"
Amelia pointed, and Filia was in chibi dragon form, winking.
Xelloss blushed, and shrugged.
"Hey guys."
The sound of a familiar voice was heard, and Xelloss and Amelia turned, to see Zelgadiss leaning in the doorway of the big party room.
"Looks nice in here." he said taking off his hood.
"Hi Zelgadiss-san! Look at the cake Xelloss-san made!" smiled Amelia.
"Xelloss made it? Are you sure it isn't deadly?" Zel asked as he smoothly waled over to Amelia.
"I assure you it isn't." smirked Xelloss.
"Ok... ok... hey! I'm on this cake!" blushed the chimera.
"And you look cute too!" chuckled Amelia.
"Umm.. uh.. anyways. I have Lina's present out back, so can you guys help me bring it in?"
"Out back? Sure.. I guess..."
Amelia followed Zel, and headed out back. Xelloss noticed Amelia's growth, and compared to Zelgadiss, she was much more formal with her dress and all.
"I should get her to dress Zel up...." he smiled, and looked at the cake.
With a happy sigh, he pushed it aside and sat on the table. His only duty now, was to get Lina the rest of the party food....
"Pull!!! PULL!!!" yelled Zelgadiss.
"I'm trying to!" With a last effort, Amelia pulled the big train of food into the party room. "My goodness Zelgadiss-san! You have the best present! All this food!"
"What else was I supposed to get her?" he asked holding his hand up.
Amelia just smiled.
"Thanks, Zel. You just did one of my jobs for me! Now I don't need to get the party food!" smiled the trickster, as he pat the un-amused Zel on his back.
"Your welcome." he simply stated. "Gourry must have worked real hard for this!" Zel said, as he walked around the large room.
"Yup! This place is bigger, too! What you're in now, is the dining room. The door over there leads to the game room, and the door in there, leads to the dance floor!" the monster laughed, and started to help the humming Amelia sort out Zel's present. Food.
"................" Was all Zelgadiss said.
"What about the sleep-over? Where will we sleep?" asked the curious Amelia.
"OH! And I almost forgot! The game room turns into the sleeping room!" winked the giddy Xelloss. ^_~
"Oh boy... this will be one BIG party. And only you, Amelia, Gourry, Lina, and me are coming?" asked Zel.
"Yup! And the DJ, ofcourse! Can't have a dance without one of them!"
"Gourry must have planned long and hard for this day. How sweet....." sighed Amelia.
Gourry knocked on Lina's door, at around 12:00 noon.
"Lina...? Are you awake?" he whispered. With no reply, he slowly opened the door, and peeked inside.
Lina was stretched out on her bed, with the covers barely covering her body. She was wearing a soft red night gown, and was drooling, and snoring very loudly.
"Umm.. Lina?" whispered Gourry.
"Mummmble....."
With a sigh, Gourry walked up to Lina's bed, and sat down in a chair next to it. He watched her with a smile on his face, and thought about all he's done.
"I hope I'll make you happy, Lina." he softly spoke, and leaned over to pull the covers fully on her.
Lina stretched with a smile, at the movement and soft hands of the blanket. She curled into a ball, and resumed her snoring, while Gourry lay back in his chair.
"Hi Filia!" said Amelia and Zel at the same time. They looked at eachother and blushed, as they continued to organize their presents.
"Oh my gosh!" Filia softly put down her basket, and started prancing around the beautifully decorated room. "This is so cool!" She ran into the games room and started marvelling at the many pots.
"Thanks!" answered Xelloss, sitting fasionally on a couch. "I helped decorate."
"X--XELLOSS?!?!?!" shrieked Filia. "Why are YOU HERE?!?!" she yelled.
"My my... can't a monster join the fun?" he smiled giving her a seductive glare.
Filia fumed, and ran back into the food room. "Why does Xelloss have to be here..."
"Oh don't worry. He wont cause any trouble! He actually helped alot!" smiled Amelia.
"As much as I hate to admit it, Xelloss did help." shrugged the chimera.
Filia shook her head, and smiled at all the food. "Wow! Talk about food!"
"Isn't it great? Zelgadiss-san brought it all as a present!" laughed the princess.
"How nice! I just some of my savings..." Filia gestured towards the big blanket, and took her PJ's off of it.
"I'll put it in the games room." said Zel, but as soon as he lifted it, he fell to the ground. Filia and Amelia stared at him questioningly, and he sweatdropped with embarassment.
"Hey! What's in this thing?!" He removed the blanket, and his eyes widened. "How much gold is in this thing??!?!?!!"
"Oh... only a percent of my earnings..." smiled Filia.
Xelloss appeared by the fallen Zelgadiss, and easily picked up the basket. "I'll take it to the next room then. Good idea Filia."
Filia's tail popped up at the sound of Xelloss' voice, and she just turned to Amelia, trying not to get into trouble.
"So! Amelia... What did you get Lina?"
"Oh! I got her some drinks! I have some of the best! Very expensive!" she walked over to her big package, and opened it with care. "There's white wine, red wine, beer, coke, more soft drinks, and oh! Look at this! My best brewer's made it!"
Xelloss appeared, and had a big smile on his face. "How thoughtful, Amelia! Now we'll really have fun!"
"I knew it'd be good! I even have Lina's favourite! Dragon Slave!"
Everyone's eyes bugged out, and thought of the consequences if someone actually drank such a wine.
"Anyways! We should get these organized for tonight!" smiled Filia. "And Amelia, I love your dress! You look so cute!" she then looked over at Xelloss and Zelgadiss. You know, the usual clothes.....
Amelia read Filia's thoughts and whispered in her ear. "You think we should give then something better to wear?"
"Hmmm.. they do look kind of 'out of it'....."
They nodded, and both turned to face the guys.
"Umm.. guys.... We were thinking... and--"
"Don't worry girls! There's no way we're going to come to Lina's party like this! I have our suits all prepared!" smiled the trickster.
"Wait a minute. You're going to dress me up?!?" protested the "being dragged out of the door by Xelloss" chimera.
"Oh don't worry Zelgadiss! I have the help of beastmaster on this one!" Xelloss and the sturggling Zelgadiss both disappeared from view, while the two girls were left alone in the big eating room.
"Ummm... Filia? Do you really think that's safe?" asked the worried Amelia.
The dragon just shrugged, and they both went back to organizing.
