The Twist
Chapter 5: Swimming Closer Punishment
The two travellers stopped in their journey to rest, in what definately looked like a mirage. Xelloss pulled Filia towards the opening, and smiled. They were in a 90% deserted desert, and nobody was around. The only thing in sight was two coconut trees, and a little steaming lake....

  "No."
  "Please, Filia?"
  "I said no."
"Oh come on, just a little...."
"No, Xelloss! Why would I want to with a monster anyway!"
  "Please......?"
  "No!
  "I know you want to..."
  "NO!!"
"It's not like it's deseased or anything..."
"Can't you take no for an answer!!??!!" fumed Filia.
  Xelloss thought. "No." he smiled.
Filia growled. She looked at him, standing there, wearing nothing but a spedo.
  "Oh alright..." she sighed.
"I knew you wanted to." laughed Xelloss.
She stood up, and moved closer to the awaiting trickster. He placed his hands on his hips, and smiled.
Filia mumbled, as she walked up to him. Then suddenly, she stopped. "Sorry! Can't do it!"
  "Why not?!?!?" whined Xelloss.
"Cause I don't have a bathing suit! I can't go swimming without a bathing suit!" she smiled.
Xelloss lowered his head and smiled. The trickster lifted up his index finger, and moved it from side to side. "Naughty naughty Filia. You're probably thinking I'd do something-- what's the word... sexual?" he giggled, and Filia fell over. "Am I right?"
"What?!!?!? NO!" she snapped. "Where'd that come from!!?!?!" she growled.
"Oh I dunno... Just that some readers here were thinking that--"
"Only sick minded people would think that I'd do something to you!"
"Right....." trailed off Xelloss. "Well! Let's go, Filia!" he smiled wipping a towel over his shoulder.
"I already said I can't go swimming without a bathing suit!" growled the furious Filia.
"That's already been taken care of!" laughed the trickster waiting by the edge of the lake.
A chill flew over Filia, as she slowly looked down at herself. "EEK!!" she shrieked. The nicely figured dragon wore a skimpy orange bikini. She blushed, and tried to cover herself up, only managing to knock herself over.
  "Xelloss...!" she growled. "It's cold!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Xelloss giggled, and looked over at his companion. Then he felt warm on his face, and looked at her shiver. She was very nicely figured, and looked amazingly beautiful in the skimpy swimsuit he snapped on her. Beautiful wasn't the only thing she was....
He shook his head, and walked over to Filia. He leaned over her, and held up his hand. A nice blue towel appeared in his hands, and he smiled at the shivering dragon.
"Here." he smiled, handing it to her.
"Thanks." Filia said with a bit of anger in her tone.
"Don't mention it." he smiled, and walked back to the steaming lake.
Filia wrapped the towel around her, and smiled at the soft touch. It felt too soft to come from Xelloss.... The dragon stood up, and walked up to the trickster.
  "Ladies first!" he smiled.
"Oh no! MONSTERS FIRST!" she laughed, as she pushed the surprised Xelloss into the lake.
Xelloss fell, irritated, and shocked at the same time. Then, underwater, he opened his eyes, and smiled at a new trick forming in his mind.
"Ha! Serves you right!" mocked Filia.
She stood, and waited for the trickster to come up and splash her. She knew that a moster like Xelloss would just want payback. But-- after awhile..... no splashes...... or even bubbles popped up from the silenced lake....... No waves... Nothing. There was no sign of life in the steaming lake, and Filia, was left alone in that deathly silence.
"Xelloss...?" whispered the frightened Filia. "Xelloss?!?" she started to panic. "No.. Xelloss!" she screamed, and took off her towel. She wipped it to the ground beside her, and leaned over the edge of the lake trying to see where her trickster was. "Come on, Xelloss." she searched rapidly with her frightened and sadened eyes, but couldn't see where her friend was. Minutes passed.... and then, she saw him. At the bottom of the lake... The dragon squinted her eyes to see, and he lay limp..... with no movement.
"X-Xellos......" she fell to the ground, and looked into the lake shocked. She covered her eyes, and tried to take his image away from her mind when--
"EEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAABBBLRRRBBLRBBrrbbbrrbbbblee" Filia screamed, as she felt wet hands wrap around her, and pull her into the hot lake.
She opened her eyes underwater, and stared at the figure holding her hands in shock. Obviously, Xelloss.
The trickster smiled, and held her hands tight. He knew that she could hold her breath longer than humans, and so he looked right into her eyes, for a long time.
Filia was sadened. How could Xelloss play such a serious tirck on her?!?! Although, Filia was definately over-reacting. There's no way Xelloss would die by hitting the bottom of a lake! How could Filia be so worried about the trickster!?! He's a trickster! Ofcourse he'd do something like that! She growled, and looked angrily at the smiling Xelloss.
For a second there, Xelloss thought Filia hadn't gotten the trick, but he smiled when she growled at him. She found out alright, and now she's mad. Maybe Xelloss shouldn't make her so mad sometimes. She hasn't really done anything to him, lately. He lost the smile on his face, and looked at Filia closely, feeling warm on his cheeks, again.
Filia noticed Xelloss' loss of happiness, and looked suspiciously at him. Her hair flowed marvolously with the water, and her skimpy outfit made her all the more attractive. Then she realized, that Xelloss was blushing. Her eyes widened in shock, as she realized why.
They were all alone, underwater, wearing nothing but a bikini --a spedo in Xelloss' case-- and were holding hands.
  Filia then realized that
she was holding his hands.
Xelloss also realized, and he moved closer to the dragon.
Filia blushed, and leaned back with shock, as Xelloss' moved closer to the dragon. Filia noticed he regained his smile, although, this one was different-- in a way....
Her eyes softened, as she looked at the monsters opening eyes. He looked at her and smirked. The usual, monster smirk. What he did next shocked Filia greatly--
Xelloss looked into his companions eyes, and smiled. She was definately something. Why didn't he notice it before? He wanted her.... but he didn't know how he could tell her. He couldn't tell her! It'd ruin her! It'd ruin her race. Imagine, the moster that killed thousands of dragons, is going to kiss one...
  "
Xelloss...." called Beastmaster. The monster smirked at hearing her voice, but kept his gaze on the blushing Filia.
  "
I'm not trying to be rude, or anything... but just to let you know, you might just want to kill those monsters behind your dragon there. And-- Wait a minute! Xelloss! What on earth are you doing?!?!" yelled Beastmaster. She watched from her lair, as Xelloss moved closer towards Filia.
He pulled his companion closer to him, and hugged her against his chest, with one arm. The other arm, was slightly occupied.
Filia couldn't believe what Xelloss was doing. How could he--
A sudden explosion shocked the dragon, as she tried to free herself from Xelloss' tight grasp. What was going on?!?!
Xelloss held Filia tight, and pointed towards the numerous monsters behind Filia. They were the lame ones, with the big eyes, and Xelloss became annoyed. He circled them with his hand, and they exploded, which made Filia struggle.
Filia broke free from Xelloss' arm, and started swimming to the surface. Numerous explosions knocked her away farther from the monster, and she was losing her breath.
She gasped greatly, as she reached the surface and sucked in air. Where was Xelloss? She looked around and couldn't see him. What were those explosions? Then the dragon saw creatures surrounding the lake, with  more flying above with the magnificent wings she saw before.
"Eh--EH??" she shrieked. Something swam past her leg, and clasped onto her waist, nearly pulling off her bottom bikini. She shrieked again, and took a gasp of air, before she was pulled under, once again.
She looked beside her, and saw Xelloss, clasping onto her waist. He swam deeper into the water, and dodged spears that were being thrown at them.
Xelloss knew this wasn't going to work, so he had no choice. He continued swimming away from the creatures, as more jumped into the water around them. They swam almost perfectly, and firghtened Filia. Xelloss moved to face the dragon, and hugged her tightly against his chest, all the while keeping a serious face on.
Filia looked at the monster shocked, and wrapped her arms around his neck for support. They were tightly pressed together, and Xelloss' magic swiftly moved them through the water. A spear nearly sliced Xelloss' face, and he looked right into Filia's eyes, with his own, angrily open.
He wrapped his arms tightly around her, and hugged her so tightly it almost took her breath away. Her face was on his shoulder, as his was on hers.
Filia's eyes widened in shock, as creatures whipped spears right at the two. She screamed, making Xelloss look back, and see that a spear came right for their faces.
His own eyes widened in anger, and they suddenly vanished into the astral plane.

  "Xelloss."
The monster chocked, and spat water out of his mouth, as he looked up at his beastmaster.
"Xellas...." he coughed, and tried to stand up in a matter of respect, but failed, as he coughed up more water. They were in beastmaster's lair, and Xelloss was in his normal clothes, but they were wet. Xelloss looked around, but didn't see Filia anywhere.
"Xelloss. This is the only time I'll tell you this.
Don't let that girl distract you like that! You know how much shit you'll get in!?!? Dammit, Xelloss!"
Xelloss looked up at her in shock. He stood up shakily, and walked closer to his master. The trickster lowered his head in shame...
"Not only will I not allow you to do this, if you do, you'll ruin that girls' reputation! There's two reasons why you shouldn't go near that girl! One: She'll definately get you into trouble! Two: You'll ruin her life if you get close to her like that again! Never!
EVER! Do that again!! You hear me?!?!?!" she was pissed. very pissed.
Xelloss knelt down, ashamed. She's right, he thought. How could he have been so foolish! He almost got Filia killed!
"Xelloss, Xelloss, Xelloss...." Xellas shook her head. She knew what was going to happen, but she wanted to prevent it by all costs! There's no way she'd lose Xelloss now.
"There's only one way I can punish you for this." she stated coldly.
Xelloss looked up at her, with a mix of shock, and anger.
"Xelloss Mettalium. You will no longer be able to touch Filia. You must keep at a distance, if you want to keep your power." she lifted her hand, and a bright light flared around the cursing Xelloss.
The trickster gasped in shock, and stared frighteningly at the surrounding energy.
"You can't touch her, without giving her your power, and strength." Xelloss cursed, and groaned in anger.
"And so whenever you do..... you slowly perish, and your power drains away from your cursed body." she paused, as Xelloss screamed in pain.
This is the only way she could help him....
Xelloss couldn't bair the pain thriving through his body. He screamed in horror, and shock, in disbelief of what was happening to him.
Beastmaster held her power around him, as dark black mist swirled around his aching body. He grabbed his chest in pain, and fell before Xellas.
The Beastmaster shut her eyes in pain for his suffering, and closed the open hand that reached out to him. Her dark mist flowed away from the suffering monster, and she placed her hand back down on the handle, of the chair in which she was sitting.
"Leave!" she commanded, and waved Xelloss away. He couldn't move. He was too shocked, and badly hurt. He couldn't teleport anywhere.
Xellas noticed his shock, so she waved again, and made the still hurting Xelloss teleport away from her lair.
"Why......?" Xelloss managed, before he left the dark room in sadness.
Xellas twicthed, and angrily turned away to drink the wine in her left hand. "It was the only way, Xelloss. The only way I could help."

Filia lay in the shade of a rock beside her. She shivered, and was sweating. The result of a bad dream... or maybe a vision.
"No............... Please no!" she cried in her sleep, and made her face wet with tears. It was coming back to her. Bit by bit, her nightmare came back to her.

Xelloss stood in a corner, guarded by Filia. She was mouthing words, that couldn't be heard over the piercing noise of their enemy. Xelloss was dying, and leaned against the wall. Strange tentacles came out from the wall behind him, and swallowed him up, leaving Filia alone with the beast. She looked at her enemy in shock, as the shadow fell over her. She was small compared to this creature, and all she could do was stare. Slowly, the creature came towards her, and suddenly, from behind her, a spear was formed out of the wall, and she gasped in shock, as it came flying towards her. She turned, and--

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAArrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!" screamed Xelloss. He appeared before the sleeping Filia, and woke her up with his screaming pain. He gasped long, and aching breaths, as he tried moving away from the scared Filia.
  "Xelloss!" she gasped.
He kept coughing and coughing, and couldn't stop.
  "Stay-- Back Filia!" he snapped.
  "But-"
"Go! Get out of here!" he said before a fit of coughing.
The dragon was shocked from the trickster's cold attitude. She turned and cried, while running away from the badly hurt monster. She was also in her normal clothes, but they too, were wet. She didn't run far, because she fell, and started sobbing.
"Why, Xelloss. What happened...?" she cried.
Xelloss stopped coughing, and turned to look at the dragon. He didn't feel pain looking at her, and so he stood up, and struggled over to apologize.
Filia looked up, as she heard footsteps beside her. Xelloss leaned against his staff, and sweated greatly, but felt no pain. Yet.
The trickster looked down at Filia, and just stared. He couldn't believe what was happening to him. Could this be possible for Xelloss....? He shook his head, and looked shamefully down at himself. His clothes were wet, and had durt on them from the ground. His cape was half ripped, and he wished he hadn't even met Filia again.
  "Xelloss..." whispered Filia.
  "Filia, I-"
Filia jumped onto Xelloss, and clenched his waist, leaning her head above it on his yellow shirt.
"Arrr!" cursed Xelloss. "No! FILIA DON'T!" he whipped her off of him, and fell to the ground in pain.
Filia was shocked. She felt a rush of new power flow through her, and gasped as she realized it was coming from Xelloss.
  "Xelloss..."
"Filia." he stated as he looked up at her. "After all these years, I have finally realized. And I am punished for it." he bit his lip, and clenched onto his stomach, groaning.
"What- What do you mean?" asked the shocked Filia.
"I can't anymore...." he replied as if talking to himself. He slowly stood up, and looked at Filia, with a sad face on.
"Xelloss!" yelled Filia, as he turned, and started to walk away.
"Keep going, Filia. I'll meet you there." he answered in a cold voice. It was Filia who was causing him pain, and it was Filia who he has to stay away from.
He disappeared from the confused Filia, leaving her even more confused.
  "Xelloss...." she whispered, sadly.
