A Day in Berlin, II

Wednesday, August 2, 2000

The Kurfürstendamm, the Rodeo Drive of Germany. Our students had a precious hour and a half to storm the stores. Some went into the largest store in Europe, KDW, "Kaufhaus Des Westens." The Kurfürstendamm is a long, tree-lined boulevard which is home to the Kaiser-Wilhelm Memorial Church, a WWII damaged church which has been left standing since the end of the war. Brianna and Ashley find themselves at the foot of it.
Here, another view of the famous German boulevard. Before returning to the bus, we meet together in front of the subway station, "Zoologischer Garten." Though time was short, much was purchased!
Danny had a couple minutes to wolf down a famous turkish "Dönar." A Dönar consists of a piece of bread with a pocket in it, roasted beef, lettuce, onions, tomatos and a special sauce. They are delicious! Cole takes a time out in front of the subway station before we head back to the bus. Shopping is hard work.
