Going-Away Evening, II

Friday, August 4, 2000

Games, games and more games! The German parents planned the coolest stuff for us to do! Here, Steve has to knock as many pins down as he can to earn points. Then there was "skiing." Our Germans had to "ski" all at one on two skis. Most of the time they were on top of each other on the ground because it was easy to fall on those things!
Then there was the copper wire game. You had to move a small circle along the wire without touching the wire else a red light would go on. The German version of "Operation." Here, Erick has to roll a ping pong ball over a movable table to the corners where there is a cup waiting. Get it in the cup and you get points! How did Erich do? Let's just say that Eric should stick to more intellectual pursuits.
There was music for us this evening provided by Herr Beigel on the Bass and his friend on the accordion. Finally, we are now in the twilight of our trip to Germany. The day ended as beautifully as it had begun. For our students, it has been a month of unbelievable experiences and it will soon all be a memory. But GAPP 2000 now continues in Temecula, California. On to the American half of our exchange!
