The tiny refugio at Arroyo de San Bol, 4km from Hornillos where we spent last night
after starting out at 4 pm and arriving at 9pm - spent most of yesterday trying to
get hard drive repaired. This spring at this refugio is supposed to ahve miraculous
powers for mending blisters, so Maureen and I gave it a shot. Lo and behold within
a day or so most of the blisters started to subside, and were much less painful. Mind over
matter??

Approaching village of Hontanas with long and winding Camino in background. Another
coo day

Ancient town of Castrojeriz, originally a Roman garrison

Leaving Castrojeriz and still mountains to climb. Camino snaking up side of hill.

Above and below the refugio, a converted 13th century chapel, of Hospital de San Nicolas run by an Italian
Confraternity of the Camino de Santiago. Priest and his wife prepared meal for us
and in an age-old ceremony bathed our feet and kissed them. Luckily we were all
forewarned and had a good shower beforehand. This was very small refugio, only 8 beds,
and we were lucky to get in. Several were turned away because they had not walked far
enough (<25km) or were cycling. Quite a moving expereince
