Tony getting stuck into a footlong bocadillo, tortilla and chorizo filling,
for breakfast just before leaving Leon. Ubiquitous cafe con leches in
foreground, cathedral of San Isidoro in background, gaping entrance to
underground parking lot in middle ground. Interesting mixture - not
just referring to the bocadillo!

On our way out of Leon at 1pm in the afternoon, in the scorching midday sun.
Not a good idea, but we only checked out of hotel at 12 , after spending the AM
getting the website and laptop going again.

On the road from Leon to Villadangos (21km) away.
It is difficult to get lost on the Camino, with yellow arrows normally around to tell you
where to go (below), but the directions painted on the road probably went a little
overboard. In this case there were two parallel routes and I guess the "directions man"
did'nt want anyone to confuse the two.

Finally arrived at Villadangos at 6.30PM a little dehydrated. Most of the route
was beside a main highway and rather boring. Because of late arrival, we got
the floor and foam matresses which were thick and quite comfortable. Had the
peregrino/pilgrim's menu (3 courses) at the local bodega for 1000pesetas($7.50 each)
complete with 1 litre of the local red - not as good as the rioja we had last week,
but enough to send us to sleep within minutes of getting back to refugio at 9.30PM.
