Maureen next a ghostly staue of a pilgrim on the way  out of Villafranca de Bierzo
before daylight - setting out early to tackle the 30km long, 1200m vertical climb up to
O Cebreiro. One of the highest points on the Camino,  on the border of Leon/Castilla
and Galicia.

Shady trail with walls that are centuries (millenia?) old.

Cow with the right of way in Herrerias

Steep climb up large flag-stone based path from Herrerias to La Faba. Scenic but
tough slogging.

Tony feeling the heat and the climb. More than a little sweaty and tired at this point,
but still felt exhilerated (sp?) by the climb

Maureen imparting some words of wisdom to some Italian amigos we keep bumping
into along the trail. Don't think they understood a word she said but the smile
tells it all - camaraderie!

Officially at the border of Leon and Galicia, near the top of the mountain, about 2km
from O Cebreiro.

We felt so good after reaching O Cebreiro we decided to keep walking to the next
refugio 6.5 km further on at Hospital de la Condesa.. Passed this famous statue of
a medieval pilgrim at Alto San Roque. Very dramatic!
