Forget the mouse here are some helpful Windows XP hotkeys:

F1 - open the help menu for what ever windows is open

F5 - used while in explore to refresh current page

F3 or Ctrl+F - Opens a search dialog.  Take for instance you are surfing the net for information.  You come across a page that has a lot of text you    don't want to read thought just hit the hotkeys and do a word search.  Also works with word documents and PDF files.

Ctrl+A - select all.  Used to select all text in a windows

Ctrl+C - copy selected area

Ctrl+X - cut selected area

Ctrl+V - paste copied or cut selection

Ctrl+Z - Undo

Ctrl+Y – Redo

Ctrl+B - make selected text bold

Ctrl+U - underline text

Ctrl+I - make text italic

Ctrl+P – Use this to print.

Ctrl+S – Save

Ctrl+N – open a new document.

F11 - Used in your internet browser to make is full screen. Hit again to restore to orginal size.

Alt+F4 - closes open window

Ctrl+Esc - open start menu. Once opened you can move around using the arrows keys.  To select something just highlight it and hit Enter

Alt+Tab - switch between open windows

Shift+Delete - use this to skip putting items in the recycle bin and delete them permanently right then

Shift - if you hold down shift while you insert a CD ROM it will bypass the auto-run feature

Alt+Enter - Makes videos in Windows Media Player full screen.  Also used to return from full screen
