Poems For Mums
A Mother's Love

I didn't need to look into your eyes to fall in love with you
I didn't have to hear you cry, to know you loved me too
I didn't need to hold your hand, to cherish you always
Within my womb, we shared our hearts
You touched my soul, you sweetened my spirit
You gave me memories I'll always hold dear
Yes my heart aches since you departed so soon
But a mother's love does not end with death
For you are my child
Forever my Love is yours

Don't Cry Mummy

I know your heart is broken from the pain of losing me
But Mummy I'm so happy, if only you could see
There are angels all around me, with flowers in their hair
This place is filled with beauty, and Love is everywhere
I've been spared from the sorrow that your Earth has come to know
So please don't worry Mummy, I know you love me so
Heaven's light shines brightly on my little angel face
If only you could see me, your pain would be erased
Such happiness is waiting, and one day you will see
We'll finally meet in Heaven, forever you and me

What Makes A Mother?

I thought of you and closed my eyes and prayed to God today
I asked what makes a mother and I know I heard him say
A mother has a baby, this we know is true
But can you be a mother, when your baby's not with you?
Yes, you can he replied, with confidence in his voice
I give many women babies, when they leave is not their choice
Some I send for a lifetime, others for a day
And some I send to feel the womb, but theres no need to stay
I just don't understand this God, I want my baby here
He took a breath and cleared his throat and then I saw a tear
I wish that I could show you what your child is doing today
If you could see your child smile, with other children and say...
"We go to Earth to learn our lessons of love and life and fear
My mummy loved me oh so much, I got to come straight here
I feel so lucky to have a mum who had so much love for me
I learned my lesson really quick, my mummy set me free
I miss my mummy very much, but I visit her each day
When she goes to sleep at night, on her pillow I lay
I stroke her hair and kiss her cheek and whisper in her ear
Mummy don't be sad today, I'm your baby and I'm here"
So you see my dear sweet one, your baby is ok
She is right here, in my arms and this is where she'll stay
She'll wait for you with me, until your lessons through
And on the day you come to Heaven, she'll be here waiting for you
So you see, what makes a mother, its the feeling in your heart
Its the love you had so much of, right from the very start
Though some on Earth don't realise, until their time is done
Remember all the love you've shared and that your a special mum
I'm Still Here

Mother, please don't mourn for me
I'm still here, though you don't see
I'm right by your side each night and day
And within your heart I long to stay
My body is gone, but I'm always near
I'm everything you feel, see or hear
My spirit is free, but I'll never depart
As long as you keep me alive in your heart
Letter To Mum

Mum please don't feel guilty
It was just my time to go
I see you still are feeling sad
And the tears just seem to flow
We all come to Earth for a lifetime
And for some its not even years
But I dont want you to keep crying
You are shedding too many tears
I haven't really left you
Even though it may seem so
I'm just a step away in Heaven
I'm closer than you know
Just believe that when you say my name
I'm standing next to you
I know you long to see me
But there's nothing I can do
But I'll still send you messages
And hope you understand
That when your time comes to 'cross over'
I'll be there to take your hand

I Stood Beside Your Bed

I stood beside your bed last night, I came to have a peep
I could see that you were crying, quietly in your sleep
I touched you oh so softly, as you wiped away a tear,
"Its me I haven't left you, I'm fine, I'm well, I'm here"
I was close to you at breakfast, I watched you pour coffee
You were thinking of how much you really longed to be with me
I was with you at the shops today, your arms were getting sore
I wanted to take some bags off you, I wish I could do more
I was with you at my grave today. you tend it with such care
I want to reassure you, that I'm not really there
I walked with you, to our house, as you fumbled for the key
I gently put my hand on you and smiled and said "It's me"
You looked so very tired, and sank into a chair
I tried so hard to let you know, that I was standing there
It's possible for me to be so near you everyday
To say to you with certainty "I never went away"
You sat there very quietly, then smiled.....I think you knew
In the stillness of the evening, I was very close to you
The day is over, I smile and say, as I watch you yawning
"Goodnight, god bless my wonderful mummy, I'll see you in the morning"
And when the time is right for you to cross the brief divide
I'll rush across to greet you and we'll stand there side by side
I have so many things to show you, theres so much for you to see
But be patient, live your journey out, then come home to be with me

Happy Mothers Day Mummy

A kiss to you on Mother's Day
A hug from me to you
I know that you are sad sometimes
I know that you are blue
Please wipe away that tear
Put on a happy face
For I'm playing up in Heaven now
And its sure a wonderful place
I've got some wings, so I can fly
They are white with a hint of pink
They carry me down to visit you
I'm closer than you think
For I am an angel now you see
I watch over you night and day
A little piece of Heaven on Earth
To guide you to your way
A kiss to you on Mother's Day
A hug from me to you
I love you mummy, please don't cry
You'll get to hold me soon

Busiest Day In Heaven

Its the busiest day in Heaven, I'm planning a big surprise, to let you know I love You and that no one ever dies
Even though you're down below and I am up above, I'm sending you these wishes, and all my angel love
Its really quite exciting, to plan this big event, for lots of gifts will come your way and all are Heaven sent
First, I'll take a bubble bath, my splashes might cause rain, but knowing all the fun I'm having, might just ease your pain
Next I'll get some pictures in my halo and my gown, so when you get to Heaven you can show them all around
I have colour crayons in Heaven, and I will draw some star so bright, And place them in the sky today, for you to see tonight
Then there will be story time, so I'll sit on angels laps, so they can tell me all about you, before I have my nap
I'll wake up full of energy, and play a game or too, before I finish sending, all my love to you
After snack I'll write a song, for all the birds to sing, And know I've made you happy, with all the joy it brings
At nighttime I'll be tired, but I'll still hold you tight, My arms will wrap around you and keep you through the night
And when you finally slumber, I will kneel to pray, Asking God to bless you on this special Mother's Day
