This is the Plaza del Sol, very near where we stayed in Madrid. I didn't get to see much of the town, but I did eat my only American fast food meal here-at Subway, in total desperation-on my last night in Spain.
Jennifer, posing in our Madrid hotel.
I think you'll have to read my email for a real description of Flamenco, because I certainly can't do it justice here. And neither can these photos. We were only allowed to take pictures/video during the last 10 minutes of the hour-long performance. So, sadly, I didn't get a pic of the dancer in her lovely Flamenco dress. In this shot, she is clapping with the others for the final song (and not in correct rhythm all the time, either!)
This is her final dance, a sort of reprise of earlier numbers. You can tell from the look on her face that she is very intensely into her performance. Notice how the singer, guitarist, and beatbox guy are all just staring at her like they're mesmerized. They did that for every single dance-it was fascinating- almost like they were watching her for the first time, like the rest of us who didn't even blink for fear of missing a moment.

Jennifer, in our hotel in Sevilla, nursing leftover suburn and her swollen ankles (wrapped in 3 socks each).
A broader view of our room in Sevilla, at the Hotel Picasso. I highly recommend Sevilla, and this hotel.
Jennifer, on the beach in Nerja, when catastrophic levels of sunburn weren't even on our minds. ;-)
Again, the lovely beach of Nerja. Pretty to look at, painful as shit to walk on.
This is the quaint beach that Jen and I literally roasted ourselves on in a little Costa del Sol town named Nerja. Please note that while we were innocently feasting on apples and frying ourselves to within an inch of death, there was a skank old woman sunbathing topless right in our line of vision. There should be an age limit-that's all I'm saying.
This was taken on our bus ride from Granada to Malaga. I was trying to capture the staggering beauty of the mountains, but bus travel doesn't really lend itself to that.
