![]() ![]() Roy "Smitty" Smith *1908 - 1970* Married Bernice Gorman Smith in 1930 Roy Estel Smith was born in Louisville, Kentucky, October 18, 1908. Shortly after his birth the family moved to the Cincinnati area. Roy had eight brothers and sisters. Vernia R. Smith *1921-1994* ![]() John Richard Smith *December 21, 1878* - *May 20, 1933* John was born in Paducah, Kentucky and was the son of Benjamin Harrison Smith and Cynthiana Spurrier Smith ![]() Lilly Forest Swisher Smith *July 11, 1881 - January 22, 1952* Lilly was born in Ripley County, Ohio and was the daughter of Jacob Swisher and Julia Anna Hiser Swisher. John Richard Smith and Lilly Forest Swisher were married November 27, 1902. ![]() October 27, 1839 - December 14, 1909* He was born in Adams County, Ohio and was the son of Thomas Abraham Swisher and Mary Ann Shelton Swisher. Lilly was the sister of Clarence E. Swisher *1872* and Ora E. Swisher *1884 - 1952* ![]() *August 28, 1851 - May 9, 1920* was born in Highland County, Ohio was the daughter of Hannah Hiser and the sister of John Perry Hiser * 1848 - 1922* Jacob Swisher and Julia Anna Hiser were married January 21, 1869 in Bracken County, Kentucky ![]() "Smitty" served as one of the original members of our fire department and served as assistant fire chief. He was an original member of the life squad, for both the V.F.W. and the village. ![]() "Smitty" was our "official" Santa Claus more than 30 years! He made toys in his workshop for many of the children he visited. He never accepted pay, but was rewarded with the happiness he shared with young and old alike. He visited schools, churches, organizations and private homes at Christmas. "Smitty" was a warm jolly man who truly cared about his community and it's people.
