The John Doe Thing - Kissing So Hard  [cd]
Rhino Records 1995
John Doe is back with his second solo release.  This one lacks the country flavor of his first one, and seems almost unnecessary coming so soon after an X album.  It even sounds almost like an X album with guest appearances by both Exene Cervenka and D.J. Bonebrake.  Don't get me wrong, I love this album.  The tenderness, the sarcasm, and the strong emotion for which John Doe has been known is all there.  I really like this album.  I guess I was just expecting something else.  ©1995 Krusty
The Joykiller - The Joykiller  [cd]
Epitaph 1995
Jack's back!  And he hasn't lost it.  Jack Grisham (formerly of TSOL) is back with a brand new sound.  The Joykiller's debut album is proof positive that you're never too old for punk rock.  With songs reminiscent of TSOL and a punk as fuck attitude, you just cannot go wrong.  ©1995 Krusty
Jughead's Revenge - Image Is Everything  [cd]
Nitro Records 1996
If you ever wanted to take a walk down memory lane without digging out your old records, or want to know what it used to sound like, this is it.  I couldn't help but think about my old Black Flag and Minor Threat.  These guys know how to do it.  All the while, making politics fun.  ©1996 Krusty
