Marky Ramone & The Intruders - Marky Ramone & the Intruders  [cd]
Thirsty Ear  1997
We all know Marky Ramone, at least we should.  But, let's take away his credentials and look at this as unbiased as possible.  This is a great band.  They are able to mix pop with aggressiveness to come up with a sound that takes you back to a time before Green Day, Rancid, The Offspring, and the likes.  Lyrically, this album is quite sound.  Some songs are just for fun, but others tackle current issues such as gun-toting teens and phone sex lines.  Even though I am not always a fan of music with a purpose, I would be hard pressed to find many current albums that could compete with this one.  There is a cover of the Ramones' 'Anxiety' on here, and personally, I think it's a little better than the original because it is more aggressive.  I know most people will compare this album to the Ramones because it is Marky's band, but I won't do it.  This is a new chapter in Marky's life, and a great one at that.  Check this out, I bet you'll like it at least half as much as I do.  ©1997 Krusty
Me First And The Gimme Gimmes - Have A Ball  [cd]
Fat Wreck Chords 1997
Well, now they've done it!  A Fat Wreck super group.  What makes this super group better than most, is that they are actually good.  Another cool thing is that all the songs on this album are covers.  The songs are some of the biggest pop hits from the mid to late seventies.  A few choice cuts include:  Elton John's 'Rocket Man', Barry Manilow's 'Mandy', and Billy Joel's 'Uptowns Girl'.  ©1997 Krusty
The Misfits - American Psycho  [cd]
Geffen Records 1997
For those of us destined to live in the past, this is definitely the album for it.  This has all the markings of a classic Misfits album, while still sounding new.  There is no doubt in my mind that these guys will be able to live up to the legend that surrounds their name.  Producer, Daniel Rey (The Ramones), has once again been able to capture the feel of a live performance on an album.  Even though there has always been a sort of cult surrounding the Misfits, this album is sure to win over old fans as well as drawing in new ones.  I can't wait to see them live.  ©1997 Krusty
The Mr. T Experience - Love Is Dead  [cd]
Lookout! Records 1996
This is the perfect pop-punk album.  Listening to this, one can only begin to hear where Green Day got their ideas.  This album contains some of the best love songs I have ever heard.  'Dumb Little Band' sums up the life of a true punk rock band.  You know, the ones that continue on without the major label money.  The ones that truly do it for the music.  Get this as quick as you can.  ©1996 Krusty
The Mr. T Experience - Night Shift At the Thrill Factory
Lookout! Records 1996
While this is a reissue, it is still worth getting if you don't already have it.  The key is, even if you have the original, you may want to get this for the five previously unreleased tracks.  They are just as good as the rest.  ©1996 Krusty
The Mr. T Experience - Big Black Bugs Bleed Blue Blood  [cd]
Lookout! Records 1997
Ok, so it's another re-issue.  At least this one is worth the money, even if you have the original.  They only put twenty-four bonus tracks on this one.  They are mostly b-side and compilation appearances, but it sure is cheaper that buying all of those singles and comps… if you can even find them.  Any way you look at it, this is MTX.  Can you go wrong?  ©1997 Krusty
