The Independents - 7th Street Entry (Minneapolis, MN)

OK, so I had talked to these guys a couple times on the phone before they got here.  So, I know some people that are friends of theirs.  I even talked to them for a couple hours before the show.  But, nobody would tell me what to expect.  What I got was a high-energy show with extras.  The extras included, but were not limited to: flash pots, blood, and skulls decorating the stage.  I first heard about these guys in January 1996.  I had been waiting for over a year to see them.  Was it worth the wait?  More than you will ever know.  To tell you the truth, I was so mesmerized by the show (maybe it was just their ghosts) that I was quite unaware of some of the things that were going on until I got my pictures back.  I would not miss these guys for anything in the world!!!  Ever!!!  ©1997 Krusty
Marky Ramone & The Intruders - The Cabooze (Minneapolis, MN)
May 19, 1997
Well, this was the first chance I had to see a Ramone since the band called it quits last August.  I was surprised at the lack of publicity that surrounded this show.  I mean, it might not be the Ramones, but it will never be.  Anyway, this show was full of energy and fun.  It was quite the intimate experience, since only about thirty-five people showed up.  Whatever you do, do not expect this to be the Ramones.  This is a new chapter in Marky's life.  I really need to commend Marky on one thing.  You know how when a band breaks up and all the former members start new bands, all they ever do is play songs form their original bands?  Well, Marky does play a few Ramones' songs, but they are only the ones that he wrote.  His music is one of the finer examples of new bands.  I would have to recommend that anyone that gets the chance see this band.  ©1997 Krusty
Impaler - 7th Street Entry (Minneapolis, MN)

Well, I don't think it will be any time soon before these guys play an all ages show around here again.  There was basically nobody there for the show, save for friends of the band.  Later that night, they played an ID show.  This one was what I would expect to see from them.  An enthusiastic audience always helps.  This show was full of the usual gore, blood, and killing.  There was even a special guest singer.  That's right, yours truly, got up on stage and helped out with their cover of one of the greatest horror movie theme songs ever written, 'Pet Sematary'.  If these guys ever come to your town, don't you dare miss them.  They may have to extract your brains if you do.  ©1997 Krusty
