PRE MARITAL COUNSELLING

A counselling for the bride and bride-groom was felt necessary before their marriage for betterment of their future generation.

1. Rh negative mothers should avoid marrying a Rh positive father inorder to prevent a condition called Hemolytic disease of new born in their children.
2. A girl from Coimbatore district got married to a man 100 kms away from her house. Her child was suffering from illness and was investigated . The child tested positive for HIV(AIDS).Consequently the parents also tested positive for HIV.Now the mother and baby has landed up in the girls parents house counting their days.Every one of us should take some measures to prevent such incidents.So we have decided to start pre marital counselling at various centres. Intially it will be started at CHENNAI,COIMBATORE AND SALEM. Later it will be started in other places also.

Under this scheme both the Bride and Bridegroom will be tested for the following test.

1. Blood grouping.
2. VDRL test.
3. Test for HIV(AIDS)
4. HbsAg (For Hepatitis B virus)

According to the test positivity or negativity they will be advised regarding their marriages.

Example if any one of them is found positive to HIV they will be advised to marry another HIV positive partner. Later they can take precautionary measures to prevent the spread of AIDS to their child by taking drugs under PMTCT (Prevention of mother to child transmission) programme.

The members of this trust will get 50% of concession in counselling charges and 25% concession for the lab test. Before taking out this project we need a feedback from you. Either mail to us or write to us at the earliest.
