| Wrestling Commentary #9 4/1/2004 General Thoughts: Return to draft last week- what a waste. They could have really done alot and shaken up what has become two fairly stale shows. Instead, they elected to move some mid-card players and give some new pushes. They could have done that without getting up excitement that something major would happen. Just look at the groups that COULD have been broken up, but didn't- Evolution (stale as it gets); Dudley Boys (all 3 together?); Booker & RVD (sure a separate push, but back together could happen soon enough.) Also, NO champ (really) got moved. No dropped belts- they could have made for excitement with a tournament Easily. Orton could (and should) have been moved to Smackdown where he could have gone off on his own. Then Raw could have given someone New a push (I do like what they're doing with Benjamin) and move the belt without lessening Orton's status. Also, Kane and Undertaker could have renewed their feud- perhaps even reteamed. It could have really forced creative teams to work and made each show better. Instead, Raw is up to old angles, while smackdown is all about people moving up- with Angle and Lesnar gone- this will be exciting there. Raw only 2 good things came (Edge and Benjamin) though NO NEW PUSH!!! |
