| To Be Or Not To Be... |
| What is it to be a Christian or Believer? Perhaps you grew up in a home where your parents forced you to attend church. Maybe you never went to any church. Maybe you have had some really bad experiences or impressions of what it truly is to be a Christian and what it means to make that ultimate decision. Let me just take a few minutes to share with you what God wants you to know... God loves you more than you can comprehend. He has created you in His likeness and He wants you to know and understand this. Genesis 1:27 tells us, "And God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and femail He created them." What happened next to affect you and me? Adam and Eve were tempted by the serpent and were unable to resist that temptation. This set the entire world and all people yet to be born into a pattern of a sinful life. Each new life born into this world is not without this flaw; not you nor me. "For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God" ~Romans 3:23 Though God knew every life would be filled with sin, He already had a plan to save us from the clutches and ultimate eternity in hell. Think about that...He already had a plan to save You! This is where Jesus comes in... He was born human fulfilling over 400 prophecies. He grew to be a man; still the Son of God but in human form. He was tempted, tested and felt physical pain. He knew what it was like to experience the emotions that we feel in our lives today. He came bringing a message...love, unconditional love for a world so riddled with trial, anger and sin. Yet He loved us then, still does! Shortly after His 33rd birthday, He was betrayed by a friend and put to a death of crucifixion. God had this all under His control. It was a part of His plan of salvation for all of us so that we might escape the death in sin that we were born into. Jesus gave His life in complete and utter humility for all of us. He gave everything so that He could stand in the gap between our sinful lives and heaven. Jesus gave His life and dealt with the powers and fury of Hell and then rose from the dead on the third day conquering sin's hold and power on all of our lives. He provided for us a way that ensures us a place in heaven for all eternity. We need only to make the wholehearted and conscious decision to accept this gift of love and ask forgiveness for our sins. But that sounds so simple... It is that simple! It doesn't matter what you have done before in your life. There are skeletons in my closet and a wealth of things that I aught to be totally ashamed of but because of the decisions I have made, those things don't matter anymore. If we are seeking God and ask for forgiveness when we sin, He sees us clean. He sees us without blemish and our slate is cleared. Does this mean we become perfect when me make that ultimate decision? No! It means that we are seeking God's will and direction in our lives. We seek to live a life that would be pleasing to Him knowing all along (and He knows too) that we will continue to make mistakes. It is part of being that sinful human being that each of us is. It's not enough to agree with the notion that there's a God out there in the universe somewhere. Is life hard? Is it frustrating? Does it at times feel empty and lonely and pointless? Have you wondered if you are really worthwhile and really loved? I know I have. Guess what? They are lies; seeds of manipulation planted in our minds by none other than Satan himself. That's what he would want you to believe. He wants you to destroy yourself with these falicies. But...there's a better way. There is meaning, you are worthwhile and you are loved! I can guarantee that! Finding Jesus and asking Him into your heart and your life will introduce you to the most profound sense of love, peace and security you will ever know. I'm no authority on much but I can tell you without blinking an eye that God loves you more than anything and He wants you to come home with Him when the time comes. He can't bear the thought of being separated from you, not even for a moment. He wants to help you and hold you. He wants to love you in a way that you have never known. That is all He desires and all He asks of you is to take that first step and make the ultimate decision to believe in Him as your personal Lord and Savior. Seek His forgiveness and let Him in. He's your best friend whether you know it or not. If He came to your house today, He would not leave until He felt sure that you knew how much He loves you. I write this to you today because I can't NOT share this with you. I can't imagine not sharing this with you! I can't imagine going back to a day when I didn't know how it felt in my heart and soul to be filled with the love of God. I wouldn't want to and I'd be scared to death to face one day alone. God doesn't want you to face one more day alone either. He is calling you! I believe that you can feel it...somewhere deep within you. His gentle voice is lulling you and calling you to come to Him. Will you go? Will you listen? Will you finally allow yourself to be loved the way that you need to be by God? When you become a Child of God, God says you deserve His love and He wants to give it to you. Who can tell you otherwise? Only one person that I know of and he is not worth the wasted second of listening! I pray for you here and now that you will find the most excellent place in your life that you will ever know. I pray God's blessings on your life. I pray that today would be the first day of a whole new life for you! God Bless You!!! |
