| Music 2002: If you like lush, etheral orchestration, this musical duo is for you. The recommended CDs for stitching Mermaid are "Across an Ocean of Dreams" and "Land of Forever". Ed Van Fleet: A master of mood, his instrumental album "Oceans" is a pure musical tapestry! This CD inspired me to stitch Mermaid in the first place. Books The Dolphins of Pern: One of the best books in the Dragonriders of Pern by Anne McCaffrey, and it is perfect reading while stitching an ocean theme piece! |

| The Harper Hall Trilogy: This is one of my favorite series, (also by Anne McCaffrey) and I try to read it every summer. The first book, Dragonsong, is my favorite for the main character spends the majority of the book living in a cave on the ocean. You will want to read all three! *Great* oceananic reading! |
