Your Turn

Noelle and I signed a pledge card we received at a Steubenville Youth Conference – a pledge that we would forever protect our individual purity as well as the purity of our relationship. We signed the card on October 18, 2002.  we’ve included here a card which you can print out and sign yourself or with your significant other.  Either way, the importance of this is not to make a promise you can’t keep, but rather to make a promise to yourself and to God that wherever you’ve been, whatever you’ve done, from here on, you’ll praise God, glorifying Him through your purity.

Here’s the pledge:

I    (NAME) _  , as of this date 00-00-00, hereby solemnly pledge and promise with my whole heart, mind, and body, that I will take utmost care and absolute courage in defending my purity against temptation and to lovingly guard the hearts, minds, and bodies of my brothers and sisters in Christ. Should an occasion of sin arise, I know that Jesus is near me always; with His help, there is no temptation too great for me to overcome. Lord have mercy on me for my past sins, have mercy on me for my future sins, and guide me always in a greater love for you and the beautiful gift of sexuality and purity entrusted to me. Amen.
