Quickly give us an introduction to the band?
Im David, i play guitar.Jonah: guitar, Joe: drums, Kevin: bass, Ryan: vocals
Why did you started a band...how did people react to them at first?
Joe started the band about 8 years ago with the original guitarist Jackson...You'd have to ask him why they started the band but I think people were pretty into them back then. At least in Palmdale anyway.
who writes most of the songs, where do they get their influences and stong matrerials from?
The new record thats coming out was pretty much a joint effort. As far as influences go we listen to a lot of different stuff. Too many to name.
What is your favourite music lyric of all time?
I dont really have one favorite lyric but I really like the lyrics in Jimmy Eat World songs.
what's the weirdest situation you've been in that has spawned a song?
umm....most songs kind of just come out of nowhere. i cant really think of any event thats made me write a guitar riff...
do you guys ever put together a track and kinda kick back and ask yourselves " is this just too good?
Were really proud of the songs on the new cd. That's about all I can really say about that.
What are some new bands you would recommend people to listen too?
I guess they're not really new anymore but I like Thursday a lot. I like the new Hot Hot Heat record too.
What was the best show you have played in your opinion?
It's hard to say...usually when we play at Chain Reaction here in southern California it goes off.
what's the most funny/dangerous/weird thing that's happened to you on tour?
On our way up to Canada last month somebody through a huge rock off an overpass and smashed the front window on our van. Luckily it didn't go through or I dont even want to know what would have happened.
What would be your dream concert to play?
If you asked me five years ago I would have said Metallica or Van Halen but I'm not too sure anymore...I really want to play with Lagwagon.
what do you think of these contests...like the AP and the Ernie Ball warped tour contests?
Is that where like you can get your band to play at the local warped tour?
If it is that's totally cool. I don't really like when bands are competing for anything though.
What type of equipment do each of you guys use?
I play through a Marshall amp, so does Jonah, Kevin uses Ampeg and Joe plays Truth Custom drums.
Do you have any side projects?
Not really, I'm always making songs that arent for Slick Shoes but I'm not serious about it.
Where do you see yourselves in a year? 5 years?
I just want to keep playing music regardless, in a year or in five years.
