Here's an interview we did with an really good punk band from Ontario. Enjoy

First of all why don't you introduce us to all the members and what there
purpose in the band is?

Steve Fitzpatrick - Vocals, Guitar
Nick James - Guitar
Dave Bobak - Bass
Chad Salisbury - Drums

Steve:

How did ya come up with your band name?

It's kind of a stupid story but me and nick were in grade 11, actually nick was in grade 10, and we had this entire week where stupid accidents kept happening to us. One day nick was like we are so accident prone, its lame I know, but we both were like dude thats it, lets call our band accident prone.

What are all your feelings on how people are categorizing different punk bands,
now a days?

I think its kind of stupid to be honest. A punk band is a punk band to me, whether its pop punk or punk or emo, or ska or whatever. All those types of styles blend so closely together that it's really hard to say that they are actually different. People who slag bands saying they aren't punk are just jealous because they can't write a song. I don't think any band that plays that style of music ever claims to be punk, the fans kind of label them that, and that's fine with me. I honestly don't care if people say we are punk, rock, country, rap, whatever, as long as they are into the music. Really thats all that matters.

What is your definition on what punk is?
Honestly I think that punk is just more about attitude than the music. I would rather focus on the music :)

What bands have influence you?

Tons of bands, I really love all styles of music. Some favorites are Guns N' Roses, Green Day, Metallica, Rage Against The Machine, Finger Eleven, Mest, Goldfinger, Lucky 7, Millencolin. I love all those bands. They actually aren't too many bands that I am not into.

What do you think is the most diffcult part trying to do the whole band thing?
and getting into the bussiness?

The hardest part is probably getting your name out and trying to get people and other bands to respect you and your music.

What are some other bands that people should listen too?
There is this really great local band called TOE. They are the most talent songwriters and great players. You are really missing out if you haven't already checked out this band. Other than that, I am really digging the new Audioslave cd and the new Lucky 7 cd.

Where can people find your music?
www.accidentprone.net  or www.mp3.com/accidentproneYou can always get a cd at one of our shows as well. It is only available at music stores in oshawa right now but hopefully in the future we will stock it in toronto as well.

If you had to describe your live show, what 2 words would you use?
On Fire

Canada has been coming up with some really good talent now a days what are your
feelings on it? And are you guys proud to be a canadian band?

Canada has ALWAYS had amazing talent its just that now finally the rest of the world is finding out about it. I was into bands like sandbox, the killjoys, doughboys, salmonblaster, limblifter, finger eleven, I mother earth, our lady peace for years, all amazing bands that honestly I don't think get the respect they truly deserve. Now we have sum41, Simple plan, and our good friends not by choice kicking some ass, and I think its great. It's about time that Canada showed its musical talents to the world. Damn straight, proud to be Canadian period :)

One final question, What are some random facts about you guys?
Random facts not sure what exactly what you are looking for. Here goes. Well I obviously love music, it plays a big part in my life. I am a new father and have a beautiful 8 month old daughter. That has changed my life and lifestyle quite a bit but I am loving every minute of it. I am a huge hockey fan. GO HABS GO!!!
Sometimes when it is really quiet me and the rest of the band like to trade farts and fart jokes. Basically anything farts its cool with accident prone. When you interview nick make sure you ask him why he is called the big phat donkey dick.
