Hello my name is POSER!

	Over the past few months I have become a frequent visitor to several messages boards all over the internet, the most common are the offcial GC one, the unoffcial SP one and the punk show one from much music. These are supposed to be boards discussing the love of a common music, but have become a virtual boxing ring. What is real punk? Who is a posoer/poseur? Hell they've even began arguing over how to say the stupid word? Everything has become a fight. And when we're not fighting with each other we're fighting with people who have wasted hours telling us how much they don't like what we do.             None of this makes sense to me. Now I'm fairly new to the whole, 'punk' scene and I do like mainly mainstream stuff, or "pop-punk" if you will. I honestly don't see a problem with that. I don't understand why it's such a sin by these 'hardcore' punkers to like Good Charlotte or Simple Plan. (Notice all the quotes in this article, that's simple because I hate all these stupid labels).               There is a very amusing article on the Punk Show BB, which in my opinion is the worst board for this kinds thing.  This is  a direct quotes from a post called, "NOT PUNK BANDS" - "Post the names of bands that wannabe-punks listen to.. You know the ones, those that aren't punk at all, and they're just pop-rock. I'll get the ball rolling... Sum41, Blink 182, Not By Choice, New Found Glory."  and ?"wanna bes??żż u mean wussy rock ".  And when those people do stand up because they disagree with the wuss roock label they get jumped on. The hatred is crazy. Maybe it just seems so strange to me becuase the only thing I hate are grade 9's, Britney spears and people that think eyebrow rings and knowing the words to 'I'd do anything' make them punk. Other than that I pretty much accept anything.            Another thing that confuses me is how people try to define punk by saying it can't be defined, or that it is just being yourself no matter what other people say, yet they are telling everyone GC or SP aren't punk and if you like them you're not punk you're just a big poser. The people on this board are so incredibly judgemental that anything not exactly like them is automatically bad or fake. They actually remind me of those stuck up 'popular' people at all schools, they think what they like is so far above everybody else.           I've been babbiling on and am kinda boring myself with the repitivness, but I am so annoyed at all the conflicting messages. So in conlucion, I am a GC, SP, NFG, NBC and Blink/Boxcar fan, if that makes me a 'poser/poseur', than, "HELLO MY NAME IS POSER!"
