The picture below is of the hill on 7 approaching the campground. I had stopped there years ago. It had impressed me, so I chose it for our short stay. It is at Nimrod Lake at Forche Junction, AR, the junction of 7 and 60.
Nimrod Dam, a Corps of Engineers' project. They have the cheapest and best sites. Water, electricity, views. 13 and 14 bucks.
Late evening at the campstite.
Let the games begin. I had noticed a WMA (wildlife management area) coming up 7 and decided to head for it. It did not disappoint. I was flying along with 2 wild turkeys at one point. I guess that makes 3 wild turkeys, total.
I should have taken pictures of how the road degenerated. I thought I was getting myself into a fix, again, as it was getting rough and wet. Then all at once it opened up and to my left I saw this bridge, a needed sign of civilization. I have been stuck on another ride and it is not pleasant. Those memories were getting clearer. I stopped and enjoyed the moment. Temperature in the low 70's. About 9AM.
The gps indicated that the road from the bridge headed right up to AR 60. I was now ready for some hard surface riding and there I would head. Hit next to continue the ride.

The road hugged the side of the hill, descending, steeply. The foliage is so thick that it masked the rugged relief of the area.

Make sure to put the side stand on a plank and not in a crack. Yes, I have to think about such things. Stuff happens to me.
