"Melody stood still for a second, but then she felt something pulling her toward the painting. Without even looking down she picked up the umbrella. The painting was closer and closer...

...and then she was standing in a park. The sun was hot, and the sky was a beautiful blue. There were many white clouds in the sky. The woman she had seen in the museum was standing near her, too. She was speaking in English to the little girl. Melody couldn't understand what they were saying, but she could see that the little girl looked worrried and afraid. Suddenly the woman turned around and spoke very clearly in words   Melody could understand...

"Something terrible has happened," she said, "you must come help us! You must come to where we are, in England, or there will be no one who can help us. You must come! You must come!"

Suddenly a strange man was standing beside her. He was very tall, and he had long black hair. He looked very angry "You shouldn't go to England!" he said. "If you do, you'll find nothing but trouble!"

Melody was very afraid. She began to run. She was so afraid that she couldn't think; she just kept running and running. Finally she fell down in the grass and closed her eyes...and then she was in her own room at home, in her bed, in the dark. She cried quietly, then went back to sleep.

In the morning when she woke up, there was grass in her hair.

The next morning Melody told Trevor about her dream. They were both worried and a little afraid. They talked for many hours, discussing whether they should go to England, or stay at home in Taiwan...
