In the beginning, there was Mark and Bruce.
Lo, they went forth, and became friends. Er, uh... that's what we'd
like to believe. Go ahead, read their BIOS for yourself, and think of me whenever you eat salad.
Okay, here's what I think I know: Mark was born June 26th 1959 in Ottawa, Ontario. It was a good year, especially for fashion, sex and music. Anyway, his folks dragged him all OVER God's Green Earth until he was old enough to hunker down in Calgary, sometime in the early '80s. It was in Calgary where he met Bruce McCulloch, and a couple years later, the dynamic duo moved to Toronto. (Gosh the '80s were a great decade for fashion, sex and music, eh?) Anyway, in Toronto, Mark squeezed out a living as a comedy writer, schmoozed with Lorne Michaels (my guess the price was right), and hooked up with Kevin, Dave and Scott at the Riv. Then the big break came for a KITH pilot show in 1988, and I'm STILL waiting for friggin' tickets to see friggin' new shows. Huh? Oh, it's not on anymore? Okay...moving on...

KITH was televised on various tv stations, including CBS and HBO, from 1989-1994. Mark went on to SNL in 1995, and performed for 3 seasons. While on SNL, he worked on artsy theatre projects and indie movies for his friends. In 1996, he co wrote and starred in Brain Candy with the other troupe members, and was brilliant as the White Trash Woman character.  In 2000, he won a Genie for best performance by an actor in a supporting role for the movie Dog Park. Since then, he's been on two KITH road tours, played in the one man play Fully Committed, and recently worked with Guy Maddin and Isabella Rossellini. He ALSO writes tv shows, and just wrapped up a mini-series titled Slings and Arrows. OH, Jeeze- I almost forgot! He's married to a really nice and obviously patient woman; they have two children and no pets. They currently live between Toronto and Vancouver- yeaaaah!

Okay, here's Bruce's story and I'm stickin' to it:
Bruce was born May 12th, 1961, to a good home in Edmonton, Alberta. He didn't always have the best hair cuts as a kid, but that all changed when he met Mark McKinney in Calgary at the Loose Moose Theatre. Shortly thereafter, with $3,000 dollars and impetuous youth, Bruce and his side-kick Mark drove across country to Toronto for fame and women. After Brucio hooked up with Kevin, Scott and Dave at the Rivoli, his luck really took off and he got his own tv show, Kids in the Hall. Yada yada...time moved through the large intestine of the universe, and by the mid 1990s, Bruce was directing movies. BIG movies. Huge movies. Movies like Superstar and Dog Park, and he was staring in BIG movies, too, like Brain Candy and Dick. Bruce's latest movie, Stealing Harvard (2003) did pretty good at the box office. I say pretty good, because even Uncle Kelly went to see it, and if HE sees a movie, then it's like, well... uh...what do you want from me- a fight? EH? Oh, sorry....it's my nerves again.

Bruce is also a musician, and released two cds: Shamed-Based Man (1995) and Drunk Baby Project (2002). Gosh what a cool title for a cd, eh- drunk baby project?  Oh, Bruce also starred on a variety of tv shows, like Twitch City and Further Tales of the City. He must like cities.  Rumor has it that Bruce got hitched  in 2003 (busy year for him), and I only hope his woman is as great as mine. My woman? Oh, she's the broad upstairs- always smokin' and braggin' about her ex-lovers like Al, Stan, the entire crew at Double A Towing...it never ends.
