This page was shamelessly created by Shelby Rushing, vocalist and guitarist of Two Month August. This page was originally created as a project for a Visual Communication class at LSU.

Shelby Rushing was educated at the wonderful institution that is Live Oak High School, and is now a Mass Communication student with a focus in Journalism at Louisiana State University. Shelby's formal musical education
began at age six, when he began taking piano lessons from his mother, Melanie Rushing, and from her teacher, Regina Walker. In eighth grade, Shelby abandoned the piano for the guitar. Under the instruction of Mark Wascom and Stan Campbell, Shelby learned to strum a six-string, which ultimately got him a position in Two Month August. Shelby has also been a member of various choirs since fifth grade.

After the demise of Two Month August, Shelby has gone on to other projects both musical and nonmusical, including solo guitar/vocal performance, a somewhat failed collaboration with members of Sparkley V, Deez Nutz, and Blue Verse, and several shows with the supergroup know as 1942 or Tim and His Loser Friends. In addition to working on his major in Journalism, Shelby is also minoring in Vocal Performance. After graduation, he hopes either to write for a major magazine (Guitar World, Rolling Stone, etc.) or to become a rock star.
